Hi!

I've been trying to log on today but keep getting an internal server error.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Primarch,

I haven't tried to log in yet, but I have been seeing a rash of E-mails about the E-A playtester's forum being down and some problem about a GW computer server. Other than rumors and E-group postings, I have no idea what's really going on.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

Thanks for the info, I have tried to logon from several different computers and have not been successful, so I guess there is some server problem.

I hope its back soon (I'm interested in that thread Gandalf the grey started...)

ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bb9'

Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another.

Primarch,

The above message is what I get when I try to log in. There was an alternate message that the server was down to. I tried logging in around 8:00pm Pacific Time USA.

I did get as far as the download page, but not to the forum itself.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Not for me. I am still geting the same errors I was yesterday. I tried it again just now.

Curious, when you get on Cybershadow, are there any new postings from anyone in the last day? Could you post?

Dafrca.

I'm still getting the same error code above.

Oh well, I needed a break anyway. Some of the arguments get a little juvenile at times.

I can post fine, and although no-one posted between 8pm yesterday and 10am today (UK time), this could be due to a lack of activity rather than anything else. I will post to make sure that Jervis/Fanatic are aware of the problem.

All the best.

Thanks Cybershadow. As of only moments ago I am still getting:

Maybe it is the link we have or something. Oh well as Maksim-Smelchak said, maybe we all needed a break and the system decided for us :-)

Interesting, I just went and tried again and this time when I got to the files page the version is back to V.10 and I still get the error code when I try and go on to the forum.

Anyone else seeing this?

Hi!

I'm still getting the same error code, so there's definately a problem.

Maksim, what do you mean about the juvenile comments on that board? Admittedly I only lurk there and I only tend to read posts from people of this forum, since they seem to be the most evenhanded. Most other people on that forum seem pretty "fanboyish" to me so I ignore them.

I did find Gandalf's comments pretty interesting though, and I like to see what Jervis will reply. Any thoughts?

Primarch,

For the most part, the active playtesters are all pretty reasonable. A few get in to drawn out arguments that don't seem really productive to me. We haven't gotten to name calling yet, but there is some heated language in a few posts. I usually avoid commenting in those posts.

Several of the posters are VERY "fanboy-ish." This can be annoying at times, but "que sera sera!"

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

I see, thanks for the explanation. Its too bad guys like you, dafrca and other epic40k.com regulars on that forum dont have a larger voice. I consider most of your points right on and pretty evenhanded, always seeking balance.

Oh well, hopefully they'll know whom to lend an ear to.

What happens for me is I get to know who I can trust to offer well thought out comments and tend to pass over those who I have found to be defensive or childish.

I find even if I disagree with those who are more mature the discussion is good and often I learn from them. Like this forum, the test formum has a nice set of great regulars who I can respect.
