I will work on battle report format. Really would like something with some detail but not to much. Definately more than armies, points and who won. :)

I am a bit slow on the computer things (age thing  :D ) I will look around but will spend most time on play testing.

Here is a host search engine. I have a list of other hosts too, but a tad long. I can PM it to you, if you ask.

Also, it is good to not host the bigger images locally, use photobucket instead - leave on the place only those pix that do not exceed 9 kb size. Photobucket allows direct linking, and has pretty huge bandwidth. For a quite decently sized site like mine, 1,5 MB bandwidth/hour (that's about 1 GB/month) in 15 megs webspace is enough. Photobucket allows like 300 MB image-only space and direct linking bandwidth of 3 GB/month. You'll also need some rudimentary graphics programs for working on the photos, maps etc. Combo of MS Paintbrush + MS Photo Editor is just what you need.

As for HTML coding, you can try getting some things like MS Front Page (comes free with Office package BTW). I can recommend for a beginning the CoffeCup HTML Express - not good for longer term, neither too effective, but it can hammer out the basics pretty fast.

If you really like, I can do the coding for you until you feel confident. :blues:

I will try to slip the web page in when I can but I am going to try to get play testing in for the list.

I am on battery but wanted to post findings of four mini-games and thoughts.

SW vs UM (all of them) (also didn't play to completion. just trying to get some specific data on the Long Fangs)

Units of two Long Fangs do not work. You can protect them but (as someone noted on one of the forums) Two "blast markers" and they are out of it. They are the only unit with ranged weapons besides Wolf Guard, Terminators,and Dreadnoughts. (just added Dreadnoughts. I for got about them.) back to the tests. :{ ??(Forgetting the Dreadnoughts for the moment) otherwise they may get to fire once and then get suppressed. This is true no mater how large the overall unit. ???

Thought.... remove the restriction 0-3 in the pack and have the option of the pack built around them. (example: 4 plus what ever) ?Thinking ?maybe ?just having packs of from 4-10 made up of your choice. ??? ?

Thoughts please?

You can take Grey Hunters to "soak up" the Blast Markers.
Rhinos/Razorbacks help as well.

You have an option of taking some tanks in the Great Company. What for?
Exactly, more ranged suppport...

Wolf Guard add to your firepower and are Leaders. Wolf Guard Battle Leaders and Wolf Priest are also helpful in keeping the detachment together long enough to do their job.

When you field some 1 Grey Hunters/3 Long Fangs/ 1 Battle Leader detachments, they are vulnerable, unless you present the enemy a more... interesting... target that will pick up their fire. Space Wolves are all about "Combined Arms" tactics.

Side note: HQ rule - change wording of the part that reads "(rounding up, and including the HQ units themselves in this quota)" to "(rounding up, and NOT including the HQ units themselves in this quota)"

:cool: ?Maybe I am doing something wrong here.

We are working on replacing the Grey Hunters ML with the Plasma Gun are we not?

In this case, they would not be able to soak up the blast markers, thus any BM's would supress the Long Fangs.

Tanks could be used but that seems a waste.

Can Dreadnoughts be transported? I can't seem to find anything. They would do the job but are rather slow.

I am keeping separate notes on each troop type. some notes and thoughts on Long fangs (I really need my books)...

1) Leave their stats as "Devastators". [unit cost 62.5]

2) Give them 3 missile launchers. [unit cost 75]

3) Give them 4 missile launchers. [unit cost 87.5][90/100/125]

4) Use them to up grade Grey Hunter stands to represent their presence. ie add the launcher to the Grey Hunter stands. [This would mean no actual Long Fang stands. (don't really like this but is one solution)]

5) Long Fangs are the most experienced and steady of troops.
They can not be supressed. Their dedication to support their less experienced brothers is unshakable.

6) for reasons above, make them "Fearless"

This is not meant to be a list of what we should do... only thoughts and notes to consider. Comments please. Also any other possibilities. [trying to "brain storm"] I am recording every idea I can find about them. It doesn't mater at this point if they make sense or not. If everything is noted it provides a record of what was considered.

I will try that combination of units. in a couple of games today.

New Subject: I seem to have a bit of mind block. I have an idea of what the Space Wolves company should look like. BUT, as detachments they are expensive and they will always be behind in "activations"
Does anyone have a list that they are using I can look at?

:{ ?Played another game today. I knew there was a reason I backed off on wargames a few years ago. ?:angry: I hate dice!
Now... I played 2000 points of wolves vs Ultra Marines. turn one went well. Set up for turn two for cross fire on some of his units. He Teleported in behind me, and won iniative. He smacked me hard breaking two units (1 unit left in each) He hit with every roll. I failed every save. Ok, still held the center and two fresh assault units on the other flank.
Made one assault on his assault units. 4 hits (no kills) he got 2 hits (2kills) I rolled 1 he rolled 6 (end of story and unit). Next chance, I assault with 6 Blood Claw foot units. No hits and eh got 4 hits and 4 kills. Again I rolled 1 and he rolled 5. End of unit end of game.

:p ?Does anyone see a patern here? ?
Out of the last 5 games, I have no useful data. Any sugestions other than "shoot myself" ?
Horseman, I used your point values straight from the Index.
just didn't feel right. (how's that for a useful coment)

Mainly the Long Fangs. It occured to me that other than adding th MLs, there are no changes to the Devastator stats. And... they no longer have free Rhinos. If we give them the Rhinos back it would help. or... reduce their cost.

Let me run through it again.

Tac with 1 ML = 50 points (including Rhino transport)
Dev with 2 MLs = 62.5 points (includung Rhino Transport)
ML = 12.5 points ? ?2 MLs = 25 points
Dev w/ 2 ML = 62.5
? ? ?w/ 3 ML = 75
? ? ?w/ 4 ML = 87.5 points (including Rhinos)

Rounding a bit couldn't we make Long Fangs ?80 points without or 90 points with Rhino transport?

One of the things I didnt agree with the 40k verison of Codex CSM (and I only read it for the background and useability in Epic- honest!) was the fact the WB spend heaps of time converting minions to "The Word" but then cant use cultists - why? ?

Yes your EIA is faithful to the Codex, but I dont think the Codex makes sense in this case. ?The extra sacrifices are good for the increased use of deamons though and I've got just the model in mind for the chaos altar!

Painted up my first epic Wb batch today- they look quite good actually...
