The trick is to use some shooty units in overwatch while maneuvering with fast units. Of course, this is nearly always harder to implement than it sounds. Still, when it's working it makes for memorable games.

Yep ! ?Mojarn is correct ... fire and maneuver ... It can be done successfully in Epic especially now with E:A "activation rules" ! We've been doing since '90. ?  Don't get caught up in running into the middle of the board and using you bolter as a club ! This ain't 40K !

Yes, it has gotten better, but it still is Herohammer, it still often comes down to who has the best Hand-to-hand "Cheesemaster" Leader. I sat and watched a couple of games just this Sunday. Bugs vs. Eldar and Marines vs. Guard.
Tactics did not win either game.
