Ah yes, Maksim, the rare metal Stomper...
I have one... got it from Signius. ?
I'll be interested to see your specimen... ?
(NOTE From: Maksim)
Legion-4,
The one you traded was the rare metal one, but not ultrarare metal Limited Edition GAMESDAY UK Stompa.
At any rate, I'll get on to sending the photos.
Shabbat Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I just got done sending the next batch of photos with all of the things that I previously mentioned.
Enjoy, guys! (I'd say ladies, but I don't think we have any yet!)
I thought I'd mention one other thing that might be of interest to those of you who enjoy proxies.
My new local Hobby shop is selling Mechwarrior Clickie Tech TM infantry stands for the following prices:
One chevron: $0.50 USD Two chevrons: $0.75 USD Three chevrons: $1.00 USD
Usually they go for $2.00 USD or more no matter the amount of chevrons on the stand. Most stands come with three figures (a few that have larger battlesuits come with two) that can be cut off of the Clickie stand and then cut apart (separated) and mounted on pennies.
Vehicles and mechs are, of course, more expensive, but I'm not interested in those.
Shabbat Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Does anyone remember an old game called Mekton?
For awhile there RAFM was making great figures for it.
I'm mainly mentioning this because I finished rebasing some of the Clickie Mechwarrior stuff I purchased and now it looks like I have a stable of Mekton figures.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I had forgotten about that game until about 2 months ago I saw a large batch of the figures for auction. It was a interesting game.

I never bought a copy and I loved most of the old mecha games. I didn't like the mechanics. The figures were prretty good though. They had a much more Japanimation look than most of the old Ral Partha Battletech line.

The mechanics didn't do anything for me, but I did not dislike them either. I think they were trying to cover such a wide range of stuff.
This group played a lot of those kinds of games. I got to try Robotech and Bubblegum Crisis with those guys to name a few. Some odd, but fun times.

Hi!
I remember having that game in stock when I retailed, no one ever bought it. In the end I gave it away...

Yet another thread recycle...
Does anyone have a source of pictures for the Irregular Miniatures pieces?
I am going to buy some of their Orc Fokkers to use as Fighta-bommer proxies, and I was wondering what the other fliers (fantasy and sci fi both) looked like.
At first, I was going to just buy one of each, but after thinking about it, I'd rather not blow $20 on a bunch of figs that I will mostly not want. Especially since even if I do like them, I will have to buy more to use them.

Neal,

This one of the worst things about many of the older manufacturers, no photos of their minis. If you can give me codes for the figures you want, I can probably dig up photos for many of them.
Did you receive the photos I recently sent out with a lot of 6mm Irregular figures?
I am going to buy some of their Orc Fokkers to use as Fighta-Bomma proxies, and I was wondering what the other fliers (fantasy and sci-fi both) looked like. |
Alain Brain has these, but I've never seen a photo of them. Most of Irregulars minis are a little crude, but look good when painted. I like their NSF 6mm sci-fi line just fine.
Some of their figures like 6mm sci-fi NSF-5 and NSF-6, a jet bike and a tracked pulse laser, just need a little sprucing up with bitz or plasticard and they look very effective.
At first, I was going to just buy one of each, but after thinking about it, I'd rather not blow $20.00 USD on a bunch of figures that I will mostly not want. Especially since even if I do like them, I will have to buy more to use them.
Right now, this is about the only way to see figures. That is to buy samples.
Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Maksim, I did not receive any pics from you. If you want to send some to me, please use:
neal.e.hunt@teamstatestreet.com
The piece numbers are FFM1 through FFM6 (fantasy fliers), and 6SSFC1 through 6SSFC8 (SF fliers). If you can help, thanks. If not, no big deal. I may just order a couple for samples to decide if I should go for the rest.
I did see a pic of Alan Brain's Fokkers about 6 years ago, but the resolution was bad and so is my memory.

More proxy questions:
I'm looking for proxy and/or scratchbuilding ideas for Deth Koptas.
- Will Man-o-War scale gyrocopters look right as Deth Koptas, or is the scale wrong? ?
- Will they need bitz to make them sufficiently Orky, or would a good paint job do it?
If anyone else is looking for the more "fantastic" proxies, the MoW stuff is pretty cheap. Gyrocopters would be $2 each for all the parts except bases.
I wanted some Lord of Change figures to use as greater daemons. They seem to be somewhere between the old GDs and the Fantasy/40K GD familiars in size. I had been watching eBay where they go for up to $10.00 USD each. They're $2 each from mail order. I'll be buying some with my gyrocopters, should I decide to get them.

Neal,
More proxy questions: I'm looking for proxy and/or scratchbuilding ideas for Deth Koptas. |
To my knowledge, Jimbo, BikerBeerStud and I have all built Deth Koptas so far. All three of us used various wagunz and plasticard for the parts.
- Will Man-o-War scale gyrocopters look right as Deth Koptas, or is the scale wrong? |
When I looked at one, it was scaled too big plus it's covered with Dwarf symology. If you really worked it over, it might look good, but I ruled out the conversion myself.
- Will they need bitz to make them sufficiently Orky, or would a good paint job do it?
I think you would definitely need bitz to Orkify it.
If anyone else is looking for the more "fantastic" proxies, the MoW stuff is pretty cheap. Gyrocopters would be $2 each for all the parts except bases.
I was trying to find a way to use the cannons and catapults for the Orks. The Orky partz are very cool.
Squig Catapultz anyone?
Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
