The Iron Hands guys have an excellent compilation of all the published SM chapters, with color schemes and shoulder pad decoration when available.

I'm tempted by doing the Mentor Legion myself when I finally get my marines through.

I know absolutely nothing about them, but I found an old Micro Machine test piece I did (& never used the paint scheme..) YEARS ago. Bone/white & green.

Tuff, if you are serious about doing a Mentor legion, I have a WD in the early 100's somewhere with a description of them.

Basically, they collect experimental weapons and have a huge store of test pieces. They have access to some very exotic stuff, and they are the replacement 888 Chapter.

Cheers guys,

Shortly after posting I thouht I'd get off my butt & do some research.

Found all I need, but the main unfortunate thing is that they are usually only fielded in small units which are leant to other forces as elite troops. Living most of thier lives in training they're aparently the single most elite chapter. Kinda cool theory (somewhat overtaken in later fluff by Deathwatch I guess...) but it kills them as an "epic" army. Might have to convert a since detachment of them though - could add an interesting characterful unit to an army from another chapter I guess  :D

I'll stop highjacking this thread now  :blues:

I just took a couple of pics of a page in the 'Fantasy Miniatures 1990' book of the GD awards and stuck them in my Briefcase- someone entered quite a nice Mentors Land Raider... sorry for the dreadful angles as the page was rather shiny to do it any other way and my scanner is broken..  :(

Hehe, anyway, hope it helps, and heres the link: http://uk.f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/space_wolf_15

Thanks for comments and suggestions everybody. I think I'll go for the Death Knights using my own color scheme and the insignia of Warmongers. I've also decided to settle for Canon Powershot A80; any better camera and it'd just have a host of features usable only to professionals like Jimbo.  :;):  That means I might even get pics of my minis up somewhere...  :O

Here we go again... After deciding to start painting the Death Knights I took one last look at the SM collector's guide. And started to doubt my choice.  :(  Now I'm unable to decide between the Death Knights and Mortifactors...  :(  :(  :blues:  Oh well, at least there are only two candidates this time.

Jervis has placed a file in the playtest vault for people to try and playtest.

Playtest Vault

He thought we should have fun even though these rules may never become official.
