@ bissler - sorry for slow reply! I agree with you that E:A is more complex, I guess re reading my post it didn't come across that way! What I meant was SM 2 is easier, but it's complexity increase as you add abilities. However it's still not as complex as EA. so I don't take offence, I agree 100%! I just find the EA rules more flowing. But I have been away from war gaming for near 20 years and with a fresh pair of eyes I like EA because its very different from other things I have played :)

Happy to agree with you then Berkut! ;D

The main thing where I felt E:A made a huge improvement on NetEpic was in the structure of the turn, specifically scrapping the system where you moved everything, then did some firing, all close combat and then the rest of your firing.

So I decided to steal take inspiration from E:A and adapt NetEpic to make vehicles move and fire in the one activation. Here's where you can find my rule changes;

Please ignore everything in the thread until the post dated Mon Aug 19, 2013 8:23 pm, everything before then was pretty much scrapped.

As someone who was a longtime SM2 player, I'd be very interested to see what you make of it - although if you could post any observations you have about them there, that would be much appreciated.

Apologies to all for the threadjacking!

Thanks CS, that's very kind of you to offer! September is ridiculously busy for me but if the offer still stands thereafter I might well take you up on that invitation. Apart from showing me the E:A ropes, it would be a pleasure to meet someone from the forum! Would it be ok to be in touch in a month or so to try and arrange a game then?

Anytime, I'm certainly not going anywhere in a hurry!
