I think I actually know the Primarch of GHQ. One of the guys I play with owned his own business and set up a wholesale account. $1000 orders were a several-per-year event for him.
Oh, and one of the other guys I play with was actually 3rd highest total volume on GW's mail order a few years ago. The two above him were clubs. He ordered so many bit lots that the guys at the US factory would call him personally. "Hey, Arthur, we know you wanted 26 of OOP part X, but the mold blew out on 22, so we took the rest off the order. Did you want something else instead?" He also got personal letters from the marketing muckety-mucks asking him if he had suggestions on how to improve their service, blah, blah, blah.

Between Primarch, David, and Arthur, I rarely feel bad about the quantity of toys I have any more.

Ditto. My goal was (and still is, acutally) to collect enough minis to field at least one of every detachment/company that was released for SM2. So, no Necrons, Tau, etc. I thought I had a lot of minis until I discovored the size of the Primarch's collection. ? ?I must say, it it truly awe inspiring. ? | Hi!

Between Primarch, David, and Arthur, I rarely feel bad about the quantity of toys I have any more. | Hi! I have also met people who order GW stuff at that scale. I remember one fellow who actual had three companies of leman russ... in 40k scale!!
Others with small titan legions of the old Amrorcast titans.
I think all aspects of the hobby have "primarchs". Like the GHQ primarch you mention a lot of us have taken out wholesale accounts in order to purchase large amounts at a discount.
Its easier than you think.
I have wondered on many occasions if we should do such a thing to get things at cost for forum members.
I have "evil" ideas like that quite frequently....

I like your painting idea. With the twist that the last man standing get to KEEP all those painted minis.....
Primarch | Do they have to look good or just be painted?

Look good. Otherwise you can spray them all black and win....
Primarch | OK good point. Let me put it another way.
Look good Tuffskull or Jimbo style, or look good three plus colors?
The reason I ask is, I could play at the 3 colors, I would fail to look as good as many I have seen on this board.

Well finally got my Void Spinner and Storm Serpent in the mail yesterday. Got all the new E:A Eldar but the Firestorm whith is out-of-stock and I'll have to reorder in the future ... the quest continues ... I forsee the same exercise with the F/Ork, which still can't be ordered ... as no release date is out. Regardless of what is said in W/D or online ... And my tactic of waiting until we have $100+ order is still in affect as post will be $6-11+ otherwise, so I'm always going to wait. I'll probably order the Firestorms with the F/Orks in July or Aug ?!?!
