Quote (wargame_insomniac @ 03 2004 Feb.,18:19) | | Like Carl, I dont want to say too much, but I can add that the new Super Heavies are being sculpted by FW's master whittler - Will Hayes. Martin Footit is doing the Revenant & I'm not sure on the Phantom/warlock yet.
I know Mr Hayes has some fans on the boards for his previous work, and I personally think it can only be a good thing to have him onboard for E:A models.
Whilst I havent seen the miniatures yet (I believe the first masters were due last week) the concept sketches I have seen look great.
I'm booked for painting the Studio pieces next month - I'll try my best to get permission to post painted previews, but I cant promise anything & suspect Fanatic will want to get the first showings on their site.

Mmmm.. I definitely agree, if what we get is remotely as good as the stunning stuff he produces for FW -Epic and 40k scale- I'll be very happy indeed!

Hi!
I'd rather see pics of the "done deal". First impressions are important, so lets see the model in its best "light".

Hello all. Quick question from reletivly new player. Are Termite and Moles any good in an IG army? Pros and cons would be appreciated. I'm trying to obtain some as I think the idea behind them is pretty cool, however am I wasting my time and money? Cheers. The penal battalion above and below.

I have Termites, Mole and a Hellbore in my IG, SM (BA) and Squat Forces. ?Have used them a number of times. ?I deploy them just like Dropships, Thunderhawks (choppers), etc. ?Vertical Envelopment - instead of "Death from Above" (the Airborne motto), with Tunnelers it's "Death from Below" ! ?Same concept ! ? And if you're very skilled (and a little lucky), you can use both forces together ... ?

I think you also need to think about the rules set you are using. With some they are better then others.
Cool models though.

If you are using strict GT rules from Epic A, they are 'count as' models, usually chimeras. In non GT games, they can be used as L4 said, utilizing the drop pod rules. That being said, I would strongly suggest coming up with your own stats and rules for their use in your own games, since in the Epic A book, they all lack any weapons! Even the mighty Hellbore! Which is kinda goofy in my opinion. But that is the way they wrote it. Feel free to change it all you want.

Remember the old Mole Mortar? Now in my mechanically-enhanced (or otherwise) mind I see the Hellbore and Mole as troop-carrying 'submarines' which operate below ground, firing Mole Mortar shells instead of torpedos. With the smaller Termite being akin to an X-craft (but larger) transporting commando squads. Or deploying charges under enemy fortifications/Titans? Or being used as unmanned demolition mines? Special rules persons, any ideas?

We use the SM1/Codex Titanicus rules with little modification. And all Tunnelers are armed ! ?Standby ... I'll go to the W/D Index and give you the old issues those are in ... Termites & Moles issue 116 and Hellbores issue 130. Hope that helps ?!
