I prefer the long bases (rectangles) because I like the look better and...

They're much easier to paint!

I still use the square bases and pennies for some things (support weapons, command stands, etc.).

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Heresy!!! Putting models on bases before you paint them! :)

No wonder you have a hard time painting them. What base I like reallly depends on the unit and army.

Yes, you can get E40K plastic IG sprues from G/W US as has been mentioned.  However, check eBay, you can usually find some of the original "old IG", as well as the E40K types, for sale there.  That being said, they may not be cheap, "So let the Buyer Beware !"   I have and use all types, Old Guard (SM1&2), Cats & Vals (E40K), etc., "Let the Traitors Beware !"   :D

Are you aiming that at me Tas? Indeed, I did buy 40 sprues of Guard, and they are ALL still on the sprues! But I have plans for every last one of them in my Steel Legion forces.

Are the Epic:A guard sprues going to have the Valhalans as Steel Legion troopers does anyone know?

Cheers

Chris

Couldn't find any IG infantry on the GWUS site: only archive epic vehicles that aren't very cheap.

As far as eBay goes, I'd like to buy some stuff, but I have no idea about pricing, having never seen an epic 40k price list to compare with.

Don't go to the G/W site, call (if you're in the US) or e-mail  G/W US customer service.  Last time I checked G/W US had all of the E40K sprues available.  Each sprue cost about $3.50 each.  So the older IG sprues on eBay will probably cost more than that because they are OOP.  But eBay bidding can go either way ...

Ah, I see. I'm in Oz, but I was thinking of ordering the BFG Apocalypse battleship hull from GWUS anyway.

What exactly is on the IG infantry sprue? From looking on the net, all I can find is the contents of the old Space Marine sprue, with the beastmen etc.

You can get the e40k era sprues through GWUS Mail Order no problem

Really?  Only the marine sprues came up when I typed "epic" in the search engine.  ???  I wonder if they have some Eldar sprues under the counter too.  }:)

I went a little sick and got 25 IG sprues earlier this year...but then I looked sane compared to some of us here didnt I...Hmmm?

Just what are you trying to imply?? Buying 20 sprues of marines and 22 Exodites of each type plus 2 Warmongers makes me insane? They're coming to take me away, hahaa!  :p

It's not just you Mojarn...like I said....40 sprues of guard...

And no Tas, I don't have a guilty conscience, just lots of sticking and painting to do!

Does anyone know how much the Imperator sprues cost from GW US?

Cheers

Chris

When I heard GW:Uk were selling off their epic stuff, I got in quick.  I bought a load of Imperial guard, Eldar and Ork sprues.  Far more than I'm ever going to use.  I also bought the Imperator, which Ive made, but not painted.

I will more than likely give a load of Imperial Guard away to my mate.  If it gets him playing, its worth the cost.

Good job, Neal !  You are now our Epic P.I. !    :blues:   And yes, guys, if you are out of the US, e-mail G/W US Customer Service and they will let you know.  But if you like, let me know what you are looking for and I can call them (have them on speed dial !) and see what they have !  Let me know and I'll call, it's free for me !  :;):  But I'm betting they have most if not all of the E40K era EPIC sprues, as that has been my experience in the past ... :)

So how many did you get Shadow Hunter? You know if you have any surplus, you could always sell some to me! I need a lot of infantry for what I am proposing with Steel Legion!

Cheers

Chris
