Perhaps in terms of distilled work time, but I do think that the two efforts are very different and would appearl to different types of people. I like to see hobby articles, scenarios, painting tutorials and just discussion. Incoming gives the ability to be a bit freer in the content and context of the articles and efforts, and do things that may be more fluffy than balanced. A single variation on a list on article the tactics of list building, for example. It's also a shorter term fix, every two months, while a supplimet - having more meat - is restricted to maybe one or two a year.

Yeah, come on PG. Twins and Urban Mammoth. You have time for Incoming. Stop slacking! ;D

It's either that or I start contributing to the Chaos list again and no-one wants that ;D

One thing I would like to suggest is that instead of a PDF based magazine that it become a web based magazine. That lends itself to a more irregular publishing schedule but also makes it easier for people to find the articles and find the games via searches online.

It certainly is an idea with potential :D.

Do you mean automating the process or just creating a HTML page for each issue?

Using Wordpress as a CMS and then tagging and setting categories for all the articles that get published. I doubt that anyone wants to manually create HTML for a website. :-) Then slowly work through the backlog of articles from old issues and repost them.

The only thing that is going to be difficult are the unit descriptions and army listings which will need some specific CSS created for them and some specific editing.

I like the idea of a "magazine" but the magazine format isn't suited for online publishing and communities.

Using an online CMS also allows us to directly link the CMS to tools like Facebook, Twitter and maybe Google+ so we can help promote the site, articles and hobby.

Although it does mean that instead of an ezine we end up with a blog, albeit a blog with a multitude of contributors.

What about a newsletter format instead linking through to the related articles instead? That would allow us to use the features you mention above whilst tying together the articles into a cohesive monthly release.

You can still do that with a CMS like Wordpress. There are Book plugins that allow you to link content into cohesive sections and then add a TOC for the "book" to each article.

Well that could certainly work then :D.

Good find PG ;).

Is that what the UrbanMammoth newsletter runs off?

Haha :D, good work.

Well drop me an email and I'll sort out some hosting permissions for you for the EPICentre. I for one cannot wait to see Incoming! back in action.

+1 for a web-based collection of articles. Turn around time would be quicker (have an article? get it up there, you don't have to wait for 5-6 more).

It might be worth talking to CS about hosting - remember TacComs runs off a CMS now too.

Does anyone have the source files for issue 25 and 26? I might as well start testing by putting in one of the old issues
