Quote (primarch @ 29 2004 Feb.,21:08) | Oh?! I didn't know they were making some. If so, I'm with you, I'll wait for those. | I have to admit I don't know if they are going to make some, but I would be very surprised if they didn't!
Knowing Forgeworld they'll probably be released a month before the EA ones and be a couple of quid cheaper!!!

Hi!
Given the prices of metal, I am inclined to agree with Jimbo.
So I'll wait, patiently.

I have an aesthetic problem with the vastly increased size of FW flyers and SHeavies and would like the smaller nes.

Hi!
In the metals version defense it will at least be available through GWUS MO, so for us US customers, it still may be cheaper to get it those than the FW ones due to the weak dollar.

The rest of us are enjoying some more reasonable buying power!
Dont worry though, IMHO the Brits are in for a dip soon too...

Quote (Markconz @ 29 2004 Feb.,20:03) | [quote="Tas,29 2004 Feb.,09:28"]Maybe it will be around to the second printing with all the editorial mistakes fixed by then... the orks listings are particularly shocking apparently.
Good to see some extra bits in the Gargant boxes tho ? |
There are quite a few mistakes in the summary tables and collectors model sections, but aside from that it is relatively good in terms of errors (compared to other GW publications this is probably the cleanest yet).
Based on the recent errata released the only errors in the rules\army lists are:
1.7.5; Paragraph 3: Change the end of the paragraph as follows: ?? or if the formation is broken by Blast markers, etc). If the transport unit is destroyed, then any transported units may make their normal armour save OR make a 6+ cover save. See 2.2.6 if a transport is destroyed by a macro-weapon."
Page 84; Space Marine Landing Craft datasheet: ?Type War Engine? should be ?Type War Engine Aircraft?, AND ?3 x Twin Heavy Bolters, Firepower AP4+? should be ?3 x Twin Heavy Bolters, Range 15cm, Firepower AP4+/AA5+? |
Not bad IMO

Well I popped into GW Birmingham today (as I was in the area).
They have a very nice (quite large) section for Epic, including a large number of blisters compared to other GW stores I have been in.
Some observations:
The rulebook was ?25.
There were lots of Ork blisters (buggies and battlewagons) but only two blisters of Imperium stuff, Whirlwinds!!!
Boxed sets were limited to plastic infantry and titans.

My surprise came with the price tags for the second wave of stuff. The first set was a little expensive, but for GW quality, I was prepared to pay it. Now the second wave appears and they are asking for ?7 for 3 SM dreads. Sorry? More than ?2 each? Ork dreads suffer the same way. With dreads being quite a liability in most versions of Epic and now the price, I dont think that we will be seeing many of these, which is a shame because they are actually really nice minis.
8 Stands of Termins for ?10? I know they are metal, but still.

True. We had TOO good for too long. Still a shock to see it so low against the pound. Its reaching cose to 50 cents more per dollar versus the pound.
A lot less minis to buy that way....
Primarch | Primarch, the dollar being weak isn't a bad thing. It makes products in sold in the US more attractive to overseas sellers. The US could make the $ more attractive, but it would kill the money coming in, and right now, I think we greedily want all we can get! As always. . .
When do the new .pdfs go up in the forum? I thought they were supposed to go up a month ago. Actually, the whole site needs updating, like the pics and all. Someone is slackin.

When I bought my copy in Swindon, UK it rang up as ?20, but the manager who served me knew the correct price was ?25. So all of you who got the rules at ?20 got a real break. I would have thought that GW would have sorted it out by now though! The bottom line though is that I think it is a good rule book and nicely presented (apart from the typos).
