One thing which might be worth trying is Irregular 6mm Goblin infantry (GO3 (L)). Unfortunately their site does not have pics.  :(

Generally Irregular minis aren't great; they range from bad to slightly above average. However, they are very cheap and much can be done at this scale with a good paintjob.

Better than rice !  However on the Yahoo Epic site, someone tried the I/goblins and was not impressed by their detail, either ... but better than rice ! :;):  I rather eat the rice than use it as Epic figs !   :laugh:

If anyone wanted to try and use the old ratlings with their guns knocked off as gretchin, here is an ebay auction that might be worth geting. 16 of them and no bids.
