Hi chaps,

Grateful for any generic advice on teleporting in Terminators. My normal tactic is to bring them on at the start of turn 2 (when the enemy battle line has usually started to spread out) at a point which is within 15cm of a high cost target. Although teleportation is a powerful ability, I usally find that the formation doesn't last very long (as soon as it appears, the enemy player makes every effort to jump on it). Winning the strategy roll is critical...

I've tried bringing them on on the extreme flanks but this can leave them out of touch for the rest of the game.

Some of my unhappy Terminators :

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Present multiple threats. Have more than 1 viable assault target for the terminators and/or have another nasty early activation thread lined up: if they deal with your terminators 1st activation then your decimator sustains/ your full strength retinue assaults with demons etc 2nd activation.

Thanks chaps,

Very much appreciated. My focus is usually painting the figures rather than winning
the game. As such, I tend to lose on a regular basis ! Not a problem but it would
be nice to have some idea how to use these expensive troops in a better way (so that
my Chaos army becomes a bit more than a mobile speedbump).

This at least gives me an idea how to move with confidence !

Thanks again,

Phil

I've had similar problems with Cult Terminators, so it's definitely not just you. Although they die and/or are Broken almost as easily as Black Legion Terminators, they're 70% more expensive due to Fearless, and unlike the similarly-priced loyalist Terminators it can be tricky getting enough other nasty threats up the table.

For EpicUK Death Guard it's a particular problem as your fast units are generally limited to Plaguehounds or the occasional mounted Retinue whose Rhinos haven't gone boom yet, and nothing can March. On the other hand, Garrisoning Plague Catapults can really punish enemy formations who bunch up, and spread out formations aren't going to do well against the Terminators...
