Yeah, sorry, but it's a closed alpha for now.

Fair enough, that's understandable. Best of luck with it!

Had my first game (well started one) with Alf O'Mega. Was very easy to pick up the system, maybe would help if a standardised use of counters was added to the instruction file. I'm finding really helpful as a tool to learning the game. I have a few more games this week ;D

Sorry for reviving this dead thread, but any indication on when this might become available for the wider public?

Anyone fancy a game of online Epic through this soon? I haven't played over it in ages but would like to.

I'm free all day Sunday (New Zealand timezone) if that's compatible. Otherwise future weekends or mid-late evenings.

Hey Glyn,

I'd be up for a game - it's been a while for me too. Check you email...

Ok, so Glyn and myself gave this a whirl this evening and failed. I'm now using a mac so I was running tabletop on a virtual machine running windows and it has some issues. I don't think they're necessarily directly related to tabletop but basically a mac executable would be really, really helpful! Early in this thread it was mentioned that both mac and Linux versions were doable - did this ever happen?

Andy emailed me back after to say he'd played around with it more and got it sorted (something to do with it being unworkably slow while running in fullscreen). I didn't see the email for a few hours so it's too late today, but we'll play another day.

Let me know if any other of you fancy a game too?

I spent a while getting a table set up ready to play on:

Just for zombocom's benefit - the problem is related to the mouse pointer disappearing once tabletop loads. It looks like it's related to "mouse integration", fullscreen mode and possibly the screen resolution you have set in Virtualbox. There similar semi-documented issues of people trying to play quake with a similar setup - tabletop uses to same online quake engine I believe. I'm going to try using VMware fusion or a bootcamp partition instead. Hopefully I'll get a working solution soon enough.

Ok, so for any Mac users out there by far the easiest way to get the windows executable running is by using a piece of software called crossover:

http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cro ... /download/

You can install it as though it were quake live and crossover will sort out a Wine installation, downloading all of the necessary .Net stuff in the process. Haven't actually played a game with it yet but it looks more solid and responsive than it ever has on any windows machine I've used it on so far!!

Not strictly Tabletop related, but might be useful information for someone else in the future...

Arise old thread,

I was looking for my old Vassal epic files, and found this wondrous discussion. Could someone provide the Tabletop link to me please? I'm in China for the next couple of months, so currently GMT + 7, but might suit a game with some Aussies in the evenings. This would a) help me relearn the game, too long away and b) learn how to use this program.

Also, is anyone still playing the Vassal game, or has it been superseded by Tabletop? My Vassal version updated and now my version ea_v1.1.13 won't seem to load.

Thanks

If anybody is willing and able to send me a link, I would like to try using this. Like lamb, this might just be the perfect thing for me to be able to get a grasp on the rules.

Have it downloaded, via vpn'd phone and transferred. It has the tiny screen problem and server block. I'll try to fix the screen, and port. If it is the stupid and frustrating Great Fire Wall blocking then there might not be much I can do.

Hoping to kick some ass soon (as soon as I remember how)
