Those converters among us do use a fair number of 40K bits, but much of the detailing is out of scale. ?A 40K dreadnought in the middle of a bunch of epic minis looks like a 40K dreadnought in the middle of a bunch of epic minis, not like a really big epic piece.

I agree. Over in the terrain and scale thread that was one of the issues. Anything man-made, like a dread, would have details that make it obvious when it is being used out of scale.

That is also why, at least until he finishes it, I am still not sure Vs 40k Rhino will look right in Epic as a CI. Too many details that make it a 28mm vehicle.

Course, V could finish it and I may change my mind.  :;):

Eh , whut?
Ummm, might be a good topic for the June modelling day.
Curses, though, the 40K look is the biggest problem. Would've been easier to use any non-40K tank!  :down:  :p

Oh be happy, I just know you will return to that project someday and it will look good.  :;):

Good lord.  The forums are a bit disorganized, it took me a good bit of searching to figure out if this was in Epic Armageddon Epic Discussion or the other Epic forum...   Anyway it's time again for me to ask inane questions.
I was under the assumption that you didn't have to have multiple stands to make up a unit yet I just read in another forum (on Warseer) that you need ah hell here's a copy paste:

"For Baran Siegemasters it is a little more difficult as they need a few more stands (what stat lines are written for and what is sometimes refered to as a unit, takes 6 stands of Marines to make 3 squads or a tactical formation). I would once again start with the Siege infantry box set - probably two of them and get a box of Ragnaroks or other tanks."

It says 6 stands = 3 squads which = a tactical formation.  In all my reading of the rules I never saw anything to support this.

Does this:

======================================================
UPGRADE UNITS COST
Fire Support Platoon Four Fire Support* 100 points
Infantry Platoon Six Infantry units* 100 points
Tank Squadron Three Leman Russ or three Leman Russ Demolisher 200 points
Hellhound Squadron Three Hellhounds 150 points
Griffon Battery Three Griffons 100 points
Snipers Two Snipers* 50 points
Ogryns Two Ogryns* 50 points
Flak One Hydra 50 points
=============================================
Mean that if I add a unit of Ogryns to a formation that for it to be a complete squad it must consist of two stands of Ogryns for the cost of 50 points?  I was reading this as you may add up to Two Units of Ogryn for 50 points each. :80:

Also I would like to take this moment to express extreme displeasure with myself for purchasing 2 Mega Gargants without checking the army list.  Are they too big to use as a Great Gargant?  Arg....

BTW: Here's a pic of my current warband.... just got 'em in and they're calling to me for some attention.  the red thing is from mechwarrior, is it too big to be converted to a fortress?

It means you pay 50 points and get two stands of Ogryn.

So if I added this Upgrade to my Formation along with the 200 point Tank Upgrade, then I would have my core formation, two stands of Ogryn, and three Tanks.

Hope that makes sense.

Oh and I think as long as your friends do not mind, it works. I used to use mine that way.  :;):

It is my understanding that once you add the upgrade, it has become part of the overall formation and thus are only subject to the normal Formation Coherency rules.

I know of no other rules, thus as long as each stand remains within the correct distance from any member of that formation, it is within the rules.

If anyone knows different, please sound off.

That's correct, a formation is a formation.

Thanks Lord =I=,

I just never know if there is something I missed, so I always like to have a second person answer as well.  :;):

Up at the top left you'll find a link called 'new posts', I find this by far the easiest way to keep up with what's going on round here.

In that case I use the Search button and set the time to match. If I know the thread was in the last week, I say last week or newer. Then fill in two or three words or in some cases I just search for my name.  :;):

99.9% of the time I find the thread with little or no problems.
