To pass on a story...I had a car accident earlier this year. ?All my hobby stuff was in the car. ?I had my 40K collection in the GW cases. ?They where packed in a military trunks. ?I have three of these for hobby stuff. ?They're bigger than a footlocker about 2' tall and 4' wide. ?Six of the GW cases fit in one trunk.

I took a 40 mph side impact and not one thing in those caes was damaged. ?Car was totaled.

The lesson learned was always pack minis or terrian in foam. ?Even my BFG imperial ships with their delicate masts survived without damage. ?For BFG I use some bed foam. ?It's something I picked up at Walmart. ?It's a foam sheet with lots of bumps, looks like the bottom of an egg container.

Here is a good company for miniature storage devices. ?Good stuff easy to use. ?

Cheers, commissar. Now I'm tempted to order a battalion case. I've been looking for a case with enough space to fit a few tanks in.

There is a very nice piece in resin of a missile silo.  About the size of a matchbox, it has a seperate sliding hatch cover so you can have your silo 'buttoned up' or 'spun-up at SQ1''!

It would make a great addition to the airfield as a Surface to Orbit defence or as a super heavy AA emplacement.

Sadly, I have no idea where it came from, having painted it and chucked the packet a few years ago.  It was a fairly mainstream manufacturer though.

Hi!

Another tidbit. Walmort sells "Plano" brand pistol and rifle cases for 9-20 dollars. The large rifle cases can carry many titans and the smaller ones are excellent for those well painted metal models. Its just s big as the GW brand one that goes for 40 bucks......

AH! Missile silos...Flash backs...you can't make me go back... I'm not going back...I don't want to be a servitor again...please don't plug me into the machine...noooooo!!! ?:D

He he. sorry. ?

Those sound cool if we can figure out the compnay.

But anything like that deserves it's own thread. ?Not just one or two missile sites a vast field of them. ?yes that will do. ?Besides I don't think the pilots will appreiacte the 200 ton blast door ripping through their baracks, or the fumes from the large Saturn V wannabe taking off. ? :D

"...Crews can survive a near miss by this weapon, the 800' drop from the crater it creates is another matter."

I knew it would be right up your alley!

I'll do some digging around and see what I can find out.

OK, I've made some calls.  I believe it was a range made by a company called Lever (sp?), who have now sadly stopped production.

Maybe find some spare stock soemwhere? Hopefully?
I'll have a look in my local haunts.

Actually what we need is Vanlek to create a shrinking machine.  He is our local Enginseer after all.  Once we have the shrinking machine we buy all the Forgewords Missile silos and then shrink them down to epic scale.

We then turn the device on local neighborhoods to create perfect replicas to play on.

just being silly.    :p

Actually I sure you could easily make some home made ones.

Here is a little treasure I just found on my hard drive- a map of Khe San firebase and forward airstrip.  It may help with your inspiration!

You're Welcome!

It would make an awesome battelarea- but to do it justice it would take up pretty much all of a 6x4 table.  But how cool...

I have a few such treasures buried away electronically.  I'll have a troll through my hardrives this weekend and see what turns up.
