We have paint! I collected a bunch of resin N-scale shipping containers. I pinned them to each other and then onto three Kings of War textured movement trays. I painted the bases like asphalt and used tape to convert a chaos stencil into a mechanicus symbol. They look grimy and dark, which works. I thought about doing more details like painting safety lines on the asphalt, but I figured that if the terrain is too flashy or filled with too much detail, it might take away from the armies occupying them. I will use these as area terrain with a 5+ cover save, like woods. I'll be painting two warehouses and several massive cranes on rails next.

Thanks Jimmy! The wash didn't work as well as I had hoped on the various spray paints used, but it looks good enough. I also tried some rust and paint chipping techniques, on the smooth tops of the longer shipping containers. I used various paints and it turned out decent - pretty happy with it. Slapped several clearcoats on them and they're good to go. Two warehouses are on the painting table now.

Here are some heavy industrial vehicles that will be used as scatter terrain. They will function as inert DC 3 War Engines with the same ability to provide cover to infantry units and block line of sight. Aside from the Promethium drum hauler, these are U.S. M5 Fast Tractors from 15mm Flames of War. I scraped off several 15mm details and used tow hooks from the 40K crane set for booms on the electromagnet and bucket vehicles. I used straight floral wire of various gauges for the cables. The Mechanicus really has to step-up their security protocols, as that pesky Chaos Lord keeps getting onto the grounds and claiming everything for the ruinous powers.

File comment: I added metal scrap to one of the electromagnets. Each electromagnet is made from the ankle and foot of a Star Wars AT-M6 model kit.

Nice work, Chris!
you have enough tractors for a pacifist Minervan army... while the opponent grabs objectives, they would have dug a gigantic pit mine full and extracted all the coal :P

Thanks Matt!

"Make coal mines, not war, man..." - The last transmission from the hippie-mining communes of Pacifist IV, moments before the Exterminatus warheads detonated.
