I have a good collection of scenery (some bought, some made) but no real surface to play it on. Google search last night came up with hundreds of options. Ideally I want something durable, 4x6, rollable to store. Not keen on cloth would prefer something that stays down on its own. I like the look of Deep Cut Studio's stuff but their sizes are limited. Anyone used any of the UK companies? If so any advice/reviews would be great. |

Your distrust in cloth mats is... Illogical, captain! http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/mat- ... -mats.html I bought 1 of these in grass and 1 in desert colours. They're the best, most cost effective option now that GW has bizarrely stopped selling their gamer mats. Main disadvantage of the Mat-o-War ones is that they don't like being folded so you prolly want to pay a little extra for packaging and keep them rolled rather than folded. Once they're down and you put some terrain on them they behave themselves. --- http://www.terrainmat.com/ ^ Desperate to get one of these, myself. Would really like a grassy one for Warmaster and a more blasted, arid one for Epic. Can't vouch for them myself but a TMP thread gave them good reviews. |

I have nothing really against the cloth mats. They just remind me of the Subbuteo! I think the thicker, PVC and mouse mat style give a nicer playing surface and often have a more interesting design. I saw the second link already but the 7 week lead time put me off.... |

Ah, I'm teasing! For me the rubber mats remind me of all the horrible tatty computer mouse mats and stationary stuff I had in the 90s! You can customise the Mat O War - I've not done it myself but you can spray paint it different colours or I guess even dry brush it in patches to give it some variety. Also if you make a cock up of it you can just turn over and use the other side like nothing ever happened. =) |

Zuzzy mats are great. Not UK, though, and terrible customer service to boot... |

Also just bought a Matowar, pretty stiff, but apparently they soften up like a normal cloth with time. I will wait and see. |
