Post subject:  Selim's Terrain Log of "found objects"

I have a few "found object" terrain pieces I plan to do over the next year or so. This will be were I post my ideas. I love feed back, please feel free to suggest improvement to my designs or suggest avenues of approach that may not have occurred to me! I plan to step up my terrain game as it were, a lot of you out there have made some pretty stellar terrain , and I feel I need to raise my bar a bit and challenge my self ;D
The first one I am doing is a field factory inspired by Dawn of War IG light vehicle factory,
I will mostly be using things I have found at work in the recycling bin ;D
This will be an on going thread
that I hope to update often.

so if you search around the internet you might be able to get a hold of plastic hard drive trays, also if you know of any computer warehouses that have "as is" or "pick and pull" computer stores they can easily be purchased for cheep as most companies throw them in the recycling bins once you swap them for the hard drive. :D

So after I assembled the core of the factory I have added some plastic card to fill some gaps. I plugged the holes in the other one with some plastic. so that I can paint the between areas of the recessed ends, which will make up the roof of the factory.

Attachments:
File comment: I used a silicon wafer holder as a roof plate as it makes nice lip around the roof top and adds texture too. and smoke stack of plastic card and kit bashed plastic from train yard kit .

Good point. Well I work at a Cisco Systems we produce a lot of hardware and copious amounts of plastic waste
but we have one of the valleys best company recycle programs and we recycle almost every thing, so I just have to keep my eyes open when ever I see stuff in the E -waste bins and do a bit of rummaging from time to time. :D

So lets just jump in to it now
I started by pulling out the pads, next I cut in to the sides and use a pin-vise to put bullet holes and damage in the ,what will be the walls.

Next I put two PC fans on there side to make a barracks, and add some bitz to make it look better. I had been saving a plate with the Aquila from the mrk 1 Rhino for just such a conversion.

added some plastic card to make a ramp and trim for the roof. in the raised area I cut out a hole the shape of a Mrk2 predator sponson-mounts, and sunk it in. liquid green-stuff to fill gaps.
will post more tomorrow.
