So I've become a big fan of paper terrain as a cheap and easy way to populate a table, thus allowing me to spend more time and money on my minis. I decided to share some of the results I've had as well as create a spot for anyone else with the inclination to do the same, or share recommendations or advice.

I own and recommend files from the following sites/companies:
Brumbaer - FREE. 10mm Medieval Buildings suitable for Warmaster, and 6mm Gothic buildings for multiple genres. I've found the generation software for the Gothic stuff frustrating, and while picking and printing a specific size is nice, I feel the trade off in surface texture is poor.

Toschich Miniatures - PAY. Some nice road packs and other odds and ends.

Hawk Wargames - FREE. 10mm Art Deco/Sci-fi buildings designed for Dropzone Commander. These also work great for 6mm games when printed at 66%.

World Works Games - PAY. 28mm modular terrain in a variety of genres. The Streets of Legend set is useful for urban settings in a variety of scales, though printing at 50% would be wise for 6mm.

Hotz Artworks - PAY. 6mm Roman buildings and ships for the Roman Seas Game, and 30mm Western Buildings.

First up are a couple of the Roman Seas buildings. I got a few sets a few days ago for Warmaster Ancients, where my primary army is Early Imperial Rome. They are nice models and reasonably priced at ~$0.50 a PDF page.

These are a couple warehouses from the Docks set. The smaller one is 20mm x 45mm, while the larger is 20mm x 60mm. There is also a third that is two story with bays like the larger pictured building, but with the footprint of the smaller.

Detail of construction. It's quite traditional, but as you can see there is no detail under the eaves. While slightly frustrating because it also makes centering the roof more challenging, once assembled it's hardly noticeable.

Scale shots with Baccus Imperial Roman Legionnaires and Onslaught OTC Neo-Ashigaru. The Romans are on a 20mm x 40mm base, while the OTC are on a 25mm round.

I have some wall sections and the Trireme Sheds printed out as well, and will post them as I have them finished.

Edit: Hopefully the edits I did on those photos will go through soon. :sigh:

So one of the things that's always frustrated me about papercraft is that it's not really made to be based. In some cases this matters little. In Warmaster all dense terrain is area terrain. No bases makes this... difficult.

So I decided to figure out if basing the Roman Seas Stuff was practical. I chose a 3"x5" base largely so I could also base the walls (5" segments) on the same size. I cut 5mm foamcore to size to reinforce the bottoms of the structures and create a space to apply adhesive and glued them in place. I then sanded the base except where the buildings would be placed. After a bit of paint, glue, and some grass tufts, I think its a big improvement over the buildings alone.

It's a bit tight for Warmaster (maybe a 5"x5" would have been better?) but it looks great for Epic and the concept seems sound.

Nice one dude!
Agree that basing ads so much to paper terrain!
