Well, not as much progress this weekend as I hoped.

I've managed to finalise first full ruined building. This will be cast with windows filled in, although it will be quite easy to drill out windows as the resin will be only approx. 1mm thick.

I've started on the second 'intact' building, but waiting for more resin to complete roof.

In the background you can probably pick out prototype resin tiles I'm working on for more gothic style buildings...

Quick question....Do you's guys prefer a base on the buildings (like ruined building) or cast flat like first two buildings? I'm undecided which is better...Erring towards buildings on a small base...

Cheers

I'd prefer them to be unbased: I want anything I buy to fit easily into my existing modular terrain system.

Having unbased pieces also makes conversion and customisation easier.

I too prefer unbased as I am usually mounting my building myself but I will state that your base on the ruin above looks great and I'd be very happy with it.

Agreed, prefer them unbased as well... Would this not be better for you also as per Einstein's theory of miniature production: No base on miniature = less materials = reduced costs for manufacturer.

His theory of relativity got all the fame and headlines, but I think we can all see the genius in this lesser-known theory. Sadly, Einstein's wargaming history was less than illustrious. Whenever he looked to be losing a battle he would scream out "this is moot! My scientists use my scientific knowledge to nuke all of your Battlewagons, Nobz and Snotlings! I WIN AGAIN!!!" He'd then storm out and have to drink the blood of a virgin (3 pints worth) before he was calm enough to resume his nobel prize-winning career in physics.

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate your feedback.

So I'll do the intact buildings without a base and some of the ruins on a base so I can scatter rubble and debris to give them some realism.

I've got a few roads I'm working on along side the buildings and would like to see what yous guys would prefer.

There are three cross sections, 1st is a road with narrow footpath either side with vetical edge. 2nd road has narrow footpath with bevelled edge & 3rd is road only with bevelled edge.

Any comments welcome :)

I'd say beveled edges either with or without the footpaths.

One thing I'd like to suggest early on are curved pieces so everything doesn't have to be laid out like manhattan if you don't want it to.

1. I actually like and would use all three styles of roads. However it you have to make one, it'd be the one with the sidewalks that would make me purchase more.
2. I agree with AoM that corners angles and turns are important additions.
-90 degree right angle corner
-45 degree bend (sharp)
-45 degree turn (two of these put together can make a 90 turn)

I'd prefer with sidewalks.

Suggestion: make some with a footpaths on one side only - these can be put side-by-side to make a multi-lane highway, but would also work on the inside of fortifying walls and so on.

Oh what I would give for a road system on a 4" x 4" grid... :)

Cheers for all the replies!

Soooo....I've been stuck doing other stuff, so had to put these aside until tonight. Here's 4 new buildings I've done tonight ready for moulding and casting. I've also done a smaller version of the church which you can see at the end on the photo with all the buildings.

I've got a couple more buildings in the pipe line...possibly 1 industrial style building for now, plus I've started work on some roads...so more photos to follow when they have progressed ready for moulds to be made!

Any feedback from you's guys would be appreciated! :)
