Well, I scrapped the idea of the small tower and opted for a larger one...it makes the model stand out more on the table and becomes more of a focal point. Also, you can see a sneak preview of a couple of models I started tonight... a landing pad and hangar/workshop or barrack building (not sure what to class it as).

I'm tempted to keep these models with minimum detail. That way it allows people to customise them themselves to suit their own table if the want to. Plus, I will be doing a run of add on gubbins that will fit most models such as pipes, vents etc

What do you guys think??

Hi!

All we need now is tiles to simulate and airfield and we're set. ;)

Great job!

Sweet.
I was bummed out when they pulled all the AI stuff as I wanted some airfield buildings for epic. But these are way better, definitely want some.
Looking forward to what else you come up with, interested in seeming some sort of industrial type buildings.

Matt

Are you planning on making the top of the tower a separate part? If so making it available by itself gives you an extra building for free! :D

That's right, the control tower will be cast as a 3 part model, base, centre structure and tower.

Once the road tiles are complete and our project is underway, I might have a set of airfield tiles on the go with defence line perimeter and flak gun emplacements ;)

Thanks very much guys for the positive comments and feedback! :)

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm going to leave some of the models quite basic to let people customise them to suit their own needs.

So here is a photo of the landing pad and a FLAK emplacement for the Detailed Defence Line.
The FLAK emplacement will be sold without the gun and gun base....however the base can be supplied at no additional cost if needed. It was just something I knocked up to mount some spare turrets I had lying around on.

With any luck, the moulds for these will be done tomorrow, along with Control Tower, Hangar/Workshop and one or two other little pieces sitting around.

Great stuff. I'd suggest two sizes if landing pad (what u have being small) for those people that have FW and other Truescale flyers in their collection.
