As happens to so many of use, my mojo went AWOL for a while.

It was a combination of painting commissions for people, trying to get new products designed, made and cast and home stresses and all that stuff.
I have also just discovered (as I am typing) another reason for burnout.
I am often trying to outdo my last build.
Aiming to increase the wow factor with each new piece means that the next project is even trickier and complicated and more time consuming than the last one.
I am in fact looking at my next one right now and whilst it will be very cool when it is done, the thought of starting melted my mojo.
It almost sits there daring me to start it…

Anyway to get around this I decided to make so mini builds.

KR 16 is a skirmish and scenario/objective driven game, so I thought why not build some objective pieces.
The first is designed to go with my Junker Drilling Station but could be used as a small Fuel Dump.
Nothing fancy, just a few bits and bobs to give the impression of what it is.

This next one has been lying around half built for over a year.
I finally finished it and painted it up.
A simple crashed escape pod.
It will be used in a game of KR 16 this Saturday.

I have found that setting myself some small easy to reach goals has helped my Mojo recover and the thought of the next big build seems quite not so bad now....

Thanks both!

Doing these small pieces has inspired a KR 16 scenario and given me some ooomph to paint up some more of MY OWN stuff.

yay!!

Small pieces help I also fine a colour on several projects at various stages work better. If one batch of models or piece is close to completion it encourages to move on with all of them.

Aye.
I am also now thinking about how a single piece can be used in a variety of ways.
My next big project (mine not ABs) will involve a main set piece but will have lots of extras to bulk it up.
These extras are also stand alone pieces.

Working on a model that has more than one use is also a good mojo helper I am finding.
