One of my schemes is to create 6mm scale architectural components for easier scratchbuilding. My first experiment was a simple peaked Gothic window. The picture shows dimensions; each hash mark is a millimeter. |

Great idea, oh wondrous aquatic mammal You are going to need to use a hell of a lot of tiny pieces in order to build a building like that   I take it these are for detailing a card box? if so I suggest more detailed bits as your shape is relatively easy to do in card stock (if somewhat time consuming). I would still want to pick up loads though!Apologies, don't mean to be disparaging in the slightest and as I reread it's only a placeholder anyway. Please carry on. |

Are you having these built with the prototyping machine? Maybe this was covered, but what program are you using for the modelling? And how much do the pieces cost to create (ballpark figures, don't mean to pry into your pocket book)? I use AutoCAD for a paycheck, so this seems much easier than sculpting/plasticard creations. Hell, I could knock out a simple building in 20 minutes if I could get it prototyped for cheap and found a easy file converter. |

I used MoI (www.moi3d.com) and output it into STL format. I used AcuCast (www.acucast.com) for the SLA (stereo laser lithography) print. They have a minimum $70 charge, and fees are based on volume. This piece (actually a row of 6 windows), was probably less than 5 bucks. Edit - naturally, I combined this tiny piece with many others to make the process more affordable. The $70 minimum is for a 'session' not a per-piece or per-file fee. STL is the most common format for 3D print services. |

You should pass these to Jonluke... he has access to a 2d laser cutter than can do this kind of thing for pennies. |

I wasn't scolding you, merely getting lost in thought about how I could combine 3 single-thickness layers (of different thicknesses) into a 3 dimensional figure. |

O'man Will you be creating a number of wall sections in gothic style that we may then fit together to create new and wonderous buildings? I would love to see some modular walls and door sections. Terrain has so much potential in this size. I will be watching intently brother. Cheers Aaron |

Sorry to hi-jack slightly but, Justiniel - what is it with architects and gaming? I've just finished part II as an architect about to start work, and two of my course mates were fairly into gaming - now there is another on here? There must be something in the training...! |

Heaven is..... 6mm asian chickies in a well designed building guarded by lots of tanks Interesting question Gorlak, I do know there are several more here as well with architecture or assoc jobs. Maybe 3D visual brains dictate an automatic  response to tiny models
