I believe that model is called the Norcen Nolyp and is totally unrelated to GW in any way.

Yup, I think people will be posting this particular emoticon soon... :wow:

The actual name of this item is "Zombie Euro Robot Symbol", or ZERS.

Behold! It is the secret project. It comes from a file acquired through a fellow board member (who will reveal himself at his own discretion), printed by Acu-Cast (www.acucast.com), then molded and cast (by yours truly).

The source file had a few deficiencies that were revealed after matter print, so assembly was a little weird for me and L-4. But as you can see, it is possible.

Hey, have I missed something? It's only today I managed to get through to Tac Comms. And that's thanks to a weird alien device I came across - hey, that's the one in the pics up here! Grand job L-4

It looks fantastic! really nicely done.

And thanks L$ for posting pics on your webpage - they make it much easier to see what's going on.

Is it just me are are the pics in this thread quite small? I've noticed it happening with other threads too...

Anyway, congrats to all involved - brilliant model, and it's great to see new technology being used for modelling here at TacComms!

Regards,
Reaver

Great work all round by sculptor and painter.

Well done guys!

Yeah, I've noticed this too. A lot of my pics have lost some detail because they've been shrunk  ???
Hopefully this is only a temorary thing...

Behold: Otterman jabbers more.

One side has a series of tiny bumps on them. Doug, the mechanical guy, conjectures that they're printed to act as anchors between the substrate and the rest of the model during printing. They can be easily sanded off, or retained to be painted as little glowy lights.

The print job cost $130 in all. AcuCast is by far the most affordable SLA printing service that I have found.
