Even though the figures and models are 1/300 scale the ground scale is meant to be much, much smaller (maybe 25mm = 100m, or 1/4000).
A figure in an infantry stand is meant to represent up to 10 actual troops, and we are happy to make that compromise in order to play on reasonably sized tables.
Now I know terrain in the same scale as the figures makes everything look better and in some cases can be equally representative of something on a larger scale (eg 1 tree representing many others, or a trench representing a larger system of fieldworks), but for buildings it just seems a bit wrong.
For the same reason I dislike the larger vehicle models that are scaled to be the same as the infantry - they could be smaller and still represent the same thing.
Have I just been exposed to too many epoxy fumes or is this something that bugs others as well? Has anyone got terrain that is built to a smaller scale than 1/300?

I use 10mm, 15mm and some larger for my Epic. I may have to adjust things by making smaller doors etc. However, Epic scale is really "flexible" ... Just so it looks reasonable, IMO ... We play 1 for 1, 1 stand = 5 infantry ...

I use terrain that "looks" correct, regardless of the actual scale. For example, I have some trees which are officially HO scale (I bought them at a hobby store the specialize din trains), but they look just fine for epic.
