And i begin with 140 cm of fortifications painted this afternoon (hail pigments!)

40k craters (could be used when a titan explodes :D ) and chemical facility (idea totally stolen to Onyx) are coming next.

Yes :D
I'll soon try a space marine army defending an imperial city against a horde of orks or tyranids.

Here is the wh40k craters. I'll also use it when titans or gargants explodes in epic games:

Made quickly with pigments and cheap acrylic paint.

this may be a dumb question but... how did you get all the little pits into rock? did you do it all by hand or do you have a secret trick.

The painting steps were quite easy:
-chaos black undercoat with a gw spray
-heavy drybrush with dark brown
-normal drybrush with 2 step of the same brown with a bit white added (I used cheap acrylic that you can buy in art store, something like 8? for 1L)
-when it was totally dry, I diluted pigments with water (you can buy this in art store too, natural tones like "raw umber" or "raw sienna" are good).
-I let it dry over too, then i remove the most with a watered tissue
-final stage, a little drybrush of some gw bleached bones on the edge/centers

At the end, I varnished all with a citadel varnish spray, to protect the pigments.
