Well after going home in early December and finding that my copy of Tactica Aeronautica had arrived I have been thinking of creating my own airbase. So to that end I have been collecting bits and pieces in preparation for my return to Oz. The picture, which I am sure many of you have seen, which inspired me is this; ![]() So I have been shopping and bought some of these to make it a little more detailed. Extra Bits Command Post ![]() Barracks for Aircrew and Ground Staff ![]() Power Generators ![]() Fuel Dump ![]() Pipelines ![]() Guard Towers ![]() Containers ![]() So there is the apetiser, I will work on a plan and get some detail up in the near future. I am hoping to finish it over a couple of weekends once I get home. I will do alot of the hard work cleaning the resin up before hand and getting the extra bits and pieces I need. I have all the FW stuff and some props to go onto the airbase. Cheers Aaron |

Cool stuff, let me see if my ID abilities are still worth a %^*$ ! The Yellow resin are Snapdragon re-released, and the Containers and Pipeline are Old Crow ? All prefect for your Airfield CAL ! Regardless ! ![]() |

I love this kind of thing! Really looking forward to seeing this take shape Aaron. You are going to be a very busy fella when you get back... Makes me wish I could take a trip across the Nullarbor and see all the Epic goodness. I'll just have to settle for seeing all your excellent work on here (the next best thing). |

Yes I am looking forward to getting into this. I am taking some serious time off, after being at it non stop for about 10 ninths I am going to down tools for a while and relax and get some painting and building done. L4 you are on the money with your recognition, The pipelines and containers are very much Old Crow and the yellow resin are all from Snapdragon. I have to thank Mark Logue for putting the links up on WargamerAU. I will add bits as I go, I had word today from a friend back home that more stuff has arrived so I am getting a little eager to get out of here and back there to get things started. Cheers Aaron |

Both Snapdragon and O/C have some very nice stuff. If I didn't have so much Terrain already, I'd certainly be tempted ! But I'm boycotting O/C until(if!?) they release their "official" Slammer AFVs in 6mm ! ![]() ![]() |

Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with CAL ![]() Personally I'm waiting on 2 censoriums and 2 administratum buildings from FW... they sent me my 4 librariums with a note saying the rest was out of stock and would be sent ASAP. Hmm... |

Yeah, that seems to be the case with alot of stuff. I had an order arrive today and my freind said that there where some items left to come. Oh well, if they are doing good business then that is a good sign. I have the majority of the FW stuff, I have eight of each landing pad allocated to this project and ten sets of the ground defences and stuff. I bought some props to add detail, in the form of Hydras, Trojans, Hydra and Manticlore platforms. a pair of Thunderbolts and two each of Vultures and Valkyries. They will not be glued down as ownership of this thing will sometimes be purely Space Marine, and other times just another Imperial World. Aaron |

OK so I came up with a rough plan, mainly placement at this stage. So this is roughly what is in my head right now. ![]() For the tremches I was thinking of using some blue insulation foam, the stuff is great to work with and cuts very well. I was going to make some small ridges around the perimeter and cut trenches into them, then use some plasticard to add detail. I am yet to go firm on this idea as I might just use some FW defences I have left over from the city terrain defences. Cheers Aaron |

Wow thats going to look awesome. I have a few big terrain projects like that in mind but they keep getting delayed in favor of painting more armies (that and figuring out how to store them). |
