May I suggest using color dipped q-tips or colored plastic headed pins to create the crowd effect.

I believe they used tooth picks in the Star Wars pod racer scene.

So long as duz's mates are all cross-eyed; how do you recreate the poor un-focused blur that made them work in the film?

If you're really ambitious, you'd fill it with the old SM2-era IG Gunners.  I think GZG, and Irregular do 6mm civilians.  And you don't have to fill the crowd; it could be a mid-week non-competitive/friendly game.

Stadiums a grand idea!  :)

I hear that!

I'm a big fan of budget terrain, given a little TLC it can look just as good as pro models.
