Picked mine up today from royal mail. They are excellent and they are much bigger than I was expecting!
Please let us know as soon as you have the buildings remoulded as I'd like to grab a pile of them to go with!

Just one question, They are pretty clean but there is one or two bits that could with a trim and tidy, I know that they recommend a respirator when working with forgeworld stuff, but is it really necessary for these? I intended to collect the trimmings in water anyway as I worry that my cat would lick them all up (he will eat anything off my desk!)

I have a few of leven miniatures buildings but Ive not worked on them either and I am a bit of noob when it comes with resin! (My other buildings have always been plastic or metal!)

Thanks again, they are brilliant- I wont be putting photos up until they are painted as I intend to use them as the back drop to my new top secret chaos army! But I will get them up soon!

Hi Rex, i'm glad you like your scenery :) .

Regarding the cleaning up of resin. I'll say for health and safety reasons you should wear a mask when working with resin, when sanding, sawing or filing as the fines that are produced, when inhaled, can damage your respiratory system. However, its personal preference if you don't wish to wear a mask when trimming flash lines etc...I've worked with resin in one form or another for approx 20 years so have my own methods of working with it.

A PM is winging its way to you right now. :)

So, having been laid up for a wee while I haven't been able to continue with the projects I had started...but instead I had a lot of time to think up and sketch a rake of new projects that should be ready over the next 3-4 months.

Now I'm getting back into the swing of things I've emptied the contents of the workbench into the bin! I really lost where I was going with them and the new stuff is crying out to be built! So....I'll have another 3 gothic style kit buildings of varying size, a series of gothic building ruin kits based on each kit building, a couple of pieces I was working on but have modified and if there is enough interest a multi-part Cathedral.

I've eventually got the large tower block finished. This is a multi part piece that once assembled stands approx 240mm high. It consists of 1x large base tower, 1x second story tower and 3 - 4x wing towers.

The photos only show the 2 towers with only 1 wing. The wings slide into the recesses on all 4 sides, if wanted. Each piece is a solid cast so with all the pieces together it weighs over 3.5kg!!

I've decided that this will be a limited run of models, a one off project, that I'm limiting to approx 12 full kit towers. These will be cast to order due to the size and weight. So if you are interested, drop me a message and I'll get back to you :)

I like the sound of new gothic buildings! And as for whether or not a Cathedral is wanted, check out this auction closing today:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... NA:US:3160

Not so sure on the tower blocks myself but will have a think, they do look kind of cool as a centrepiece. I have been avoiding solid piece resin scenery for the most part though, as I've found the weight is an inconvenience and postage to NZ is often a killer. Another reason I'm a fan of your hollow buildings. Exceptions quite possibly made for a cool looking cathedral...

By the way what's the best glue to stick these together with? Just supa-glue? What about wood glue, Expoxy glue, something else? Thanks!

Hi, I'm busy watching that auction! It would be something similar, but with separate towers, side walls and roof panels so they can be customized plus the weight would be drastically reduced by not having solid casts. Infact I was thinking about this half an hr ago whilst sketching the design. I may do the whole cathedral as a kit form building, plus a large kit form gothic tower (the size of the base tower).

Yeah, the weight of solid casts is an absolute killer to post to various places from the UK.

I would recommend super glue, its cheap and bonds well. Epoxy glue does the same but costs more and is a complete overkill. I wouldn't use wood glue (pva) as the bond is so weak that when it does dry, once you pick it up it will fall apart! Hope that helps :)

Hi!

While I have been quiet on this thread (loads of things in the works that have my attention for now), I have not forgotten you. :)

I think you should make cathedrals, and whatever else you can think of. They are all cool, and of course, in the fullness of time will have all my attention and you will be busy for a very long time.... ;)
