Mate,

This is an awesome project, what are you doing with the windows, will there be some very nice looking stained glass going in?

Cheers
Aaron

Had chance today to try another section, One of my first blue moulds had the little wall sections in them, they are seperate sections with smaller windows than the big building walls, I cut them and angled them to make an Octaganal shape base for a tower section after Signal form the forum suggested building a larger tower using the tower bits with the triangle bits cut off,

The doorway is just one off the wall sections cut up and re arranged to make a new piece, them 1mm plasticard to do the steps, so hopefully when i get chance to make some more tower sections it will end up been some sort of spire building ;D

The windows are from the trainset clear window kit, they are just pushed behind for now until the buildings complete and painted, Put a torch underneath to try and show some detail but poor lighting etc the picture has not come out so well but it gives an idea of where im heading,

If the window thing on the buildings comes out ok, Im thinking i may look into lighting for these buildings to add a charector,
I know many train sets use lighting but i may just rig up some bright LED white lights that tend to have low current draw and use batterys inside the buildings to illuminate the windows, a little OOT i know but hopefully going the extra mile will add that extra bit of effect ;)

Anyway heres the pic of the base of the future tower, still under construction ;D

Hi Guys,
Managed to get some paint on the large structure, still have a few of the tower frames and spires to paint gold but other than that its complete bar the stain glass windows, Really suprized how quick buildings are to dry brush, Painted it as suggested by other members, started with a dry brush of fortress grey, Codex grey for the roof, dry brushed the gold spires, Ink wise did not use a lot just asherman blue on the roof and a some of the brickwork in certain areas, then black ink on the gold stuff.

Im pretty happy how it has come out as im not used to painting buildings just minatures normally ;)

Here are a few pictures attached, pics are pretty poor for some strange reason as show up way to light, Will try to get some better photos later,

I was really pleased with the way the statues came out aswell, i was a tad concerned they would look out of place or would not not paint up well, but they turned out pretty good and probably one of my favorite bits of the building :)

The roof is made of weapons-grade bolognium, hence able to support the towers on its own ;D

Looking really good. Those statues work extremely well.

Hi Chaps,
Have managed to finish the little round building, i used multi layers to make it a very tall, Its now going to be an imperial shrine ;) the pics not that great as when painted they dont seem to photo well ::)

Image

Also managed to build a new design with the bits i have made, its very basic but i have at last managed to fit the spire walls on the sides/corner of the building, also slight change on the towers put some imperial eagles on the spires, will have to see what they look like when painted to see if they look ok, anyway here are some pics, these seem to photo well ::)

Also looked into some more scenery, i wanted to make courtyards or bits to put in between the buildings to break them up,
I was after a 28mm minature to make a statue out of but non really jumped out at me and not sure how it would scale up to the rest of the scenery, So built a plynth out of the bottom off some tower sections and added some plasticard and a little 6mm chaplin, glued it all together and its looks alright, hopefully once its painted it will end up looking statue like, but the scale in comparison to the buildings looks better than a giantic 28mm minature.

Will keep the updates coming when painted etc, regards epic
