First, make a few city blocks (I'd say 4 or 6) that are trapezoidal instead of rectangular. If everything is laid out in even blocks, it looks fake.

Apparently you've never seen Oklahoma City (but then again, who has)?

Primarch, testify!

i love your board and it has inspired me in my project (a modest little 4ftx4ft table). What are you plans for flock? Dusty ash or mud or ground/stone around the outskirts of the city?

Hi all,

Well it has been a while since anything has hapend with this. Just trying to get through painting and construction of the different squares for the board. Today major progress has been made with the addition of a table for them to sit on. With the assistance of CTHULHU_GUMP (AKA Drew), we knocked up a gaming table today.

So after completing the board we thought to give it a little decoration and take some pics. In addition to the board progress has been made on the road sections as you will see. These are from Procopious (AKA Glynn), if you ask nicely we will be able to sell you some at a fantastic price. Packs will be available soon, along with the website.

Ok onto the pics.

The original plan

Some progress pics

More to follow

Aaron

Cheers
Aaron

I don't recognize the miniature wearing the blue hooded jacket. What manufacturer does he come from?

That's coming along nicely.  I need to get my city terrain project moving along.

What are you using for rubble on the sections with ruins?

Fantastic board, you'll have some awesome games on this!
I love a city board - I reckon I'll try and steal a few ideas from this one...
Regards,
Reaver

M4 mate

The rubble is a mix of GW, railway blue metal and bits of left over plasticard, I beam and whatever I can find to throw into it. I am currently looking for a slate mine, to see if I can find some small stuff to add to the mix.

@ all, thanks for the comments so far. I aim to make some progress on the buildings over the coming weeks and have all the blocks finished. I just need the roads to complete the city blocks. I will then be able to focus on the city walls and the ruined sections.

Cheers
Aaron
