I can't win. I ordered some 30mm thick polystyrene for hill building a while ago on eBay, and was sent 50mm instead. I finally got around to placing a new order elsewhere, this time for 25mm, and was sent 75mm. |

Finally back to work. The balance of my Neo Tyrannis buildings arrived yesterday. As frustrating as the process became, they were worth the wait. I had forgotten that my planned double block for the Koenig Tower had space at the ends I was going to need to do something with. I decided to put in some large water features. I had lots of clear blue window plastic left over, which made it pretty easy. Show here with some other blocks to really give a sense of the size. |

I've had the next section mapped out for years, but it's nice to discover that everything actually fits when you lay out the actual parts. Unfortunately, I found I've misplaced one of the MDF block sections, but that will be easy enough to replace. |

This is the cityscape I had planned when I first backed Neo Tyrannis. I subsequently decided I was expanding it (there's one wide row still to be added). |

Progress. Nearly sixteen square feet of city. Need to finish off the Lang Residential block, and my Polyversal Kickstarter spaceport will fit into one of the gaps once it arrives. |

Looking great - the kind of table I'd love to play on! |

So many minis in transit or pending orders, but nothing here for me to paint, so I'm planning to do some of my rural buildings this weekend. |

I did indeed get around to starting work on my village buildings (all resin, from Gamecraft). They have been lying around for quite a while, and I haven't been at all motivated to do anything with them. However, they were required to fill up some space on my table recently, and they did a pretty good job, albeit looking a bit stark in their white, unpainted state. They are beginning to look much better. I'm very happy with the bluestone effect on the barn, although I now wish I'd done the roof in a stronger contrasting style. The facades on the Tudor style buildings are an absolute pain to paint, and my work is quite ugly up close, but decent enough from a distance. |

It seems I haven't posted anything showing the city fully set up. Having played a couple games with the city setup, and moving to Epic, we went to a less dense setup, which also made me feel like my efforts making the the mat weren't wasted. Needed to get a bit more terrain made to fill it up, and had some ruined buildings left over that became this. I'm planning to build up the rubble a bit at some point. I also had some packing foam my new gaming chair, which I was talked into keeping for terrain construction. Turned out be absolutely brilliant to work with, very light but dense; extremely easy to carve up and a great natural texture. |
