Come on lads, you know I'm from Scotland! Up here, wasting alcohol isn't just immoral... it's illegal! The only epic lawbreaking I've been involved in was when I built those mines a while back!

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=24287

I've been thinking of doing a few more of the cans, maybe a Stasis one (though I can't remember the last time I used a stasis missile, am going to bring back the old barrage rules). Painting explosions on to a few 330ml cans might be a plan for barrage markers. Wholly impractical but they'd be pretty nifty for battle reports!

I'm looking for some advice about my rivers. If you have a look, you'll see I just used blue card that was then cut with a craft knife (thanks to my brother again a few years back). I really like them, but I'm thinking about trying to make them look a bit more realistic.
I was thinking of painting some darker blue in some sections to make it look deeper and then apply some Woodland Scenics Realistic Water over the top. Can anyone advise if they think this would be a good or bad idea? Is it worth doing? Would one 16oz bottle be enough to cover the whole lot? 150cm x 10cm (approx). Obviously I won't need many layers as I am just looking to put a covering sheen over the river sections.
Thanks!

I've just started reading the Epic Armageddon rules and realised immediately that I owe players of that game a big apology. The beer cans will not work for your templates. I'm playing old-school Epic where the templates are 6cm rather than 7.4cm for E:A. Sorry for anyone who has been inconvenienced by this. I'll edit my original post about this so anyone now stumbling upon this will know immediately it is designed for NetEpic and other early incarnations of Epic.

To those who I haven't alienated, if anyone could offer any advice about my river question above, I would still very much welcome their thoughts on the subject!

Sorry and thanks!!

Some new builds intended as objective markers.

First up, a comms centre. The wee red airlock is the actual objective marker.

The little modules are lids from "Fruit Shoot" drinks - an idea stolen from our good friend Angel Barracks. The clear sections are sawn up sections of pen pipe, with the end of a pen used for the "airlock". That's the lid off of a toothpaste dispenser that forms the main centre section, with another "Fruit Shoot" lid on top (sadly this style of lid no longer seems to be made, it's the 'module' ones that seem prevalent now). Upon that is the lid off of some superglue, and then I've used some bits off of pen lids and cocktail sticks for the "communications mast". The sensor relays/searchlights (depending on your imagination) are actually little sparkly bits that fell off of my wife's slippers - I didn't tear them off, honest! Finally, I had an old black power cable that was getting binned, this was nabbed and I cut the housing so that it made corridors which connected the centre structure to the outer modules.

I say "I" through most of this, but truth be told, while the idea was mine, my brother helped put most of it together, as he did with the next piece...

A generator or power substation thingy!

Just for fun, I'll open this one up to the community, can you name what bits of rubbish this is made of?

Note:I had wanted to put both of these builds into my 1 hr terrain challenge post but they didn't work out that way, mostly because I kept playing about with the different pieces, trying to find a combination that worked for me - that took me well over the hour mark.

Bought some pieces from Angel Barracks. Still in the process of painting most of it, but here's the finished pieces so far.

In your opinion of all things EPIC, how are the landing pads sizewise?

And a wee group shot with a few other models to help with perspective.
