Duz commented in another thread that my 'Kirche' (church) window was not Gothic, but Baroque. So, here's a Gothic version:

Take a look at the Kölner DOm (Cologne Cathedral) for different styles of Gothic windows.

A look at Gothic Architecture could be useful too:

It's more then cool, the civil engineer in me was very happy. went with my asian girl ( :glare: ) last summer.

hmmm.
A little architectural glimpse just for you...

A full scale EPIC version would be how big?
but then I see the Ecclsiarchry going for much more of a blocky look.

True. Late-Gothic cathedrals actually look a bit too elegant for my taste, since they emphasize light so much and have much larger windows than the earlier stuff.

Here Sainte-Chapelle in Paris:

King's College Chapel, Cambridge.

Compared to Chartres

But again: Like the pig latin GW uses for their names, the architecture is an ecclectic mix of romanesque, gothic, early rennaisance and even a touch of baroque styles.

Hey O'man

How is this project going. I have an interest as I have a city fight on the go and I am looking to create some different building styles.

Cheers
Aaron

Slowly. I submitted the plans for the bigger windows to David Mihail / Justicar. He hasn't responded.

So, I am contemplating sending them to AcuCast, but I need a big job to make that cost effective, and my contact there hasn't responded.

This implies that they may have to bronzed through Todd Boyce.

There's another 3D printer that I have been eyeing. Their resolution and durability seem good, but the pricing is a distinct quanta: $50, then $100, and so forth, and its unclear if multiple pieces can be included in a given price range.

OK O'man

keep us in the loop. Are you looking to just make the different arches or are we going to see full wall panells in various sizes?

Cheers
Aaron

Arches at first, then possibly wall panels. The problem with the Cities of Death panels is that the detail on them is too fine to resolve at 6mm scale, with the exception of the mechanicum panels. I think I did a sample design and showed it in the "What's next" topic.

What I haven't worked on is how large to make the panels, and how to link them together. Any recommendations?

You could put tabs and slots on them, like the E40k ruins.

I decided to tinker tonight, and in a modelling fit, made the components modular like the ruins. This may work at cross-purposes to what I want to do, which is make thingies that can be glued to a sheet of plastic, which in turn is glued to a big foam cube.

I guess the backs could be filed off.
