With that said, Chroma already supposedly started on some terrain awhile back and then all the talk about it just faded away.

Well, I got married and got a house... so I got distracted for a while... *laugh*

I've got molds of models I've made for entrenchments, cool bunkers, and gun emplacements, along with non-Gothic "city walls".  I've finally set up my casting station down in my basement, so I guess this thread should be a call for me to get off my ass and do things!  *laugh*

The thing is, with time and materials involved, I can't make them *cheap*, but they will be reasonable.  I'll try to post prices later today or tomorrow as I should be in bed, cuz I'm sick.

Here's a link to my stuff if you haven't seen it:

Chroma... EXCELLENT work mate!

As long as its gonna be cheaper than Daemonscape I will buy from you for sure. This is just what I've been looking for.

Great stuff.

Your stuff is indeed excellent, Chroma!  Infact, your city walls are the sort of thing that I had in mind for how modular terrain could work.

For example, you have basic 'squares' of, say, 2cm x 2cm, 3mm thick, each representing various sections:

- Wall with door
- intact wall with window (2-3 variations)
- ruined wall (3 types, left end, right end and a 'middle')
- intact roof (which could reverse as a floor)
- ruined floor (again, reversable)

So that's a total of about 9 sections.  Going by your experience, Chroma, could such pieces be cast reasonably easily?

At some point over the next couple of months I *might* have time to have a go at a mock up of a wall section, perhaps a ruined section.  However, I will be the first to admit that my work tends to be the 'slap it together with loads of glue and pray for the best' type, ie I might start off working from straight-lines, but it often ends up going awry some where!  Probably not ideal for something which will be cast in to multiple copies.  But if it helps to get the ball rolling, I'll give it a go.

Any other suggestions?

Hey, don't get me started about those guys! Showing off their neat mining controllers and super heavy sniper dudes! Then they won't sell me any.

Ah, it's probably just all 3D renderings. Grumble grumble...

Well it is categorically true that we are evil, at least in EW. I obviously cannot speak for DRM.

However, have no fear. We intend to break with tradition and release the Mining Machines this weekend. I have a nice parcel full of them at home and providing they don't escape (mining machines being quite hard to imprison) I'll get them up for you on Friday night.

Snipers are still being cast as we speak, the advantage of being WMN is that you get the first castings of every batch - especially as he was the chap who came up with the concept for these lovely little lads.

And what of E/W producing some modular terrain/ruins/buildings, Tom?  Any thoughts?

Old Crow Models do excellent resin non-gothic terrain. It is a bit pricey and I have not used it myself but thinking about buying some of it and if I do will reply.

While somewhat on the topic of "non-gothic" type buildings/structure, is there anything out there Eldar or "alien" in style?  Or even some good resources?

I've never been able to come up with any good Eldar type terrain.

Thanks!
