I gota get me one of those defense lasers at some point, I hadn't looked at them with an epic eye for some reason.


Absolutely I bought 2 x Fortress of Redemption kits some years ago with the intention to convert gothic epic city walls out of them. There would also be a couple of extremely large building towers with angel decoration, plus orbital missile silos and I thought I might convert a AA twin lascannon housing into an astrological observatory. Not done any of that yet but hopefully eventually.

@Onyx, I'll copy your paint style on them! I like it so much!!

They are a bit expensive but with imagination and patience it's possible to create big project, obviously renovating the components from scratch, a bit like Lego, rebuilding the pieces in another way. For ex., the Onyx Chaos bastion is an epic idea, that I've copied it creating the Imperial Bastion in epic scale with balcony and heavy weapon armament.

In fact I'm planning to get a couple and then build a defence installation around them (using 6mm Xmarx pieces) which helps to make clear they are orbital level weapons and put them in scale.

Great call on adding these to 6mm. I can see these towering alongside a fortress wall, overshadowing the field of battle....

I add +1 to the choir. To really make them sparkle, you would have to redo all scale giveaways. I'm thinking the rivets need to be replaced with small scale variants for one thing. Huge amounts of fiddly bits would probably be beneficial too...

gunslinger- the craters are light weight plastic (or resin) and came in a plastic bag with 5 different styles. They are already painted. Cant remember the brand. Bought them from a local hobby store mainly because they were cheap.
