Hi i normally start out by drawing concept art and blueprint for my landscapes this is something i normally don't reveal (you can mail me for some of them if you need some inspiration) but this project has given me grey hair its a modern module camp/barracks as seen in Afghanistan and Iraq but some key structures are needed (i know half of the perimeter its is the meaning there should be tents) but its the key structures.
the circles AA defence, the small squares are containers meant as mess-hall and other public functions, the bunkers are ammo bunkers, the thick lines walls and i have placed a trench around the compound

what i need is some input please help

You like to design with 3D programs? I recommend Google's excellent, free Sketchup

Use that to make a really snazzy prototype. That way you can proof your concepts on the computer!

Well, this reminds me of the Roman Mile Forts my ancestors use to build ... However, in modern terms "hard sites" are not used that often. ?Now, that being said, our base camp on the DMZ in the ROK supported a Bn + of troops and equipment. And we had the following "facilities" (tents mostly and the occasional bunker !). ? Billiting for the troops/barracks, HQs-Ops Center (including commo/radio site), Admin/Logistics center, Ammo bunkers, Fuel point, Supply and material storage, Medical facilities, Motor Pool and maintance sites, Latrine/showers, Mess Hall, checkpoints and weapons positions at all entry points and guard posts. ? Recreation center, gym tent, PX ... yep, I think that's it ... ?:D ?That should fill up your "Fort" ... :;):

to take a lesson from Vauban (my personal hero) his fortresses always had a "last stand" bunker built into them. in the case of your fortress you could have a Command/Communication bunker/hardpoint defense in the center of your fortress. With billets and supply depots surrounding.

But to further follow on Vauban's teachings you could have a defense trench within the fortress instead of a central citadel.

L4 the crazy thing is that Nato is using this type of structures in Afghanistan and Iraq today DK army has a base called camp Bastian and yes it is funny that history repeat it self (again) and i know that that such structures can be build in 48 hours via prefab

I can see it's use in that region. Kind of like the firebase concept in Vietnam.  In low intensity conflicts/counter-guerilla warfare it has a place. Like the forts of the Old West in the Indian Wars of the 19th Century.  A heavily fortified base camp to run forward operations out of. And with prefab engineering, it makes sense. But I can't help having thoughts about Dien Bien Phu, Khe Sahn, etc.  Our "Warrior Base" as I described above in the ROK was lightly fortified. If the "poop it the fan" we'd abandon it, fallback, regroup and counter attack. The US Army does not like stationary "hard sites" much. It's a very mobile combined arms force. However, in SW Asia I can see the use.  And if a large group of insurgents tried to overrun the position, they'd be a massive target. And just were we'd what them, to kill them "en mass". However on the down side the French at Dien Bien Phu tried a similar concept. But they didn't have the massive hi-tech CAS that NATO has ... :D

i know but i have a finger on the puls among army engineers and what's to come in counter-guerilla warfare is this way you go out and capture the land hold it via such bases which is constructed with in 48 hours and and lib frog your way in to taliban land and dominate the area this way (remember tsun tsu: he who dominate the land controls it)

Yes, Sun Tzu is hard to argue with !  And denying areas to the insurgents is a good tactic ... And it appears to be having some success. :D
