Looking at some of the awsome Epic terrain on the web I ended up being inspired to make a large modular ruined city.  So far all that has happened is buying a whole bunch of resin terrain.

So it still looks like this:


I thought I would reveiw two of the companies that I have found cheap 6mm terrain from.

These are cast in a very strong resin that could probably survive the rapid deceleration that occurs when one of your gaming buddies knocks them off the table and they hit the floor.  The downside is that a bit of detail is lost.

The dark brown resin buildings are hovels

Principles of war buildings are again fairly cheap.  They are made from a white resin that is a lot more brittle and holds a bit more detail.  A couple of them had markings on them from the bubble wrap when they weren't set properly but other than that they were really good.



These photos are a mix of the two types (hovels dark, principles light)

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.

Not bad.  The terraced houses look a little more Coronation Street than Epic. :D  But the ruins and some others - particularly in the second-from-bottom photo - look like they could blend in very nicely with the right paintjob.

Thanks, what are the chances of having a couple troops/vehicles in the piccies for scale, your first pic helps somewhat.
Hmmm, even if they are a little 'coronation street' they'll be perfect for my 6mm WW2 anyway so I'm off to see how many I can buy this month  :laugh:

Thanks, for the info, Mark. I'm not really looking for more buildings, but it's good to know anyway. With all the buildings I got from  AT, SM1, SM2 and TL, I hardly need more.   :D

I know someone that used to use lumps of the smelliest cheese he could find as tunneling markers for his skaven. it was rather distracting.

But on the plus side, they're cheap, and shipping from their UK location to Dallas was surprisingly fast - about a week.
