Hi all,
many years ago, when I was a younger and less wise enginseer I entered a very big beastie in the Epicomp. I've attached a pic of this.
The beastie - what I called the Adeptus Tributio - was manned by Angels of Fire Marines and Dreadnoughts. They were chosen because their red armour and banners contrasted with the sand-coloured vehicle.

I'm thinking of painting up a few stands and vehicles, but would like to know more. Anyone have any idea whether any form of official fluff exists beyond the pic in the Space Marine gallery on the GW site?

Aside from the force listing in the Armageddon book and website I've never seen another official reference. I know there's a DoW skin for them but that's about it.

They're on the Adeptus Astartes poster for BL as well, the color scheme looks pretty similar to what's online on GW sites.

Neat idea: scale this down and use it for the banner on your supreme commander stand.

Just wondering whether they are the same as "Fire Angels" from Rogue Trader. They were involved in the Badab War but Idon't think there was any background info even then. Just the color scheme.

Really? Curious. I wonder whether they became the Tyrant's marines or where 100% loyal to the Imperium. They're nt mentioned in any later fluff, as far as I recall.

They were loyal. It was specifically stated and all of the traitor chapters were listed: Tiger Claws (I refuse to acknowledge the existence of anything called "Astral Claws"),  Executioners, Lamenters and Mantis Warriors.

Color Scheme of the Fire Angels. Even though the pic is not from the original article the colors are correct although IIRC there should be flames around the cross on the shoulder pad.

EDIT: According to Iron Hands chapter index they are not the same. Anybody got WD248 to see what it says in the reference?

I've got US issue 248 ... the Angels of Fire have red armor  and yellow flames on the shoulder pads ... but I don't see anything else about them ? ???
