In the Canon, is there a Chapter known for using more Air Drops then others?
Like the White Scars are known for their "fast attack" lean.
Thinking of not clearing out any Drop stuff. Rather, make an army that has a focus on air assaults. So lots of Hawks, Drop Pods, and a few larger drop ships.

Hi Dafrca,
I can't think of any specifically known for this... supposedly all of the chapters are good at drop assaults.
White Scars is a good choice though.

That is what I thought. It would not matter the Chapter as they all were "Marines".
Thanks

Well, the Death watch, I think, are one; and the Salamanders appear too sluggish to be enthusiastic. The Raven Guard, perhaps?

I the "old days" of SM1 TO&Es, the Space Wolves were the Drop Specialists. Mine are still organized that way with Dropships, Pods and T/Hawks. However, my other SM Rgts, UM, BA, DA and Sallys all have T/Hawks. Based on the "real world", all US Army and USMC Infantry have assets available (Helos/Choppers) to do air assault ops. However, the 101st Airborne Air Assault Div. (my old outfit) specializes in those type ops and the 82nd Airborne in air drops. The USMC has parachute quailfied troops but no real airborne units like the 82d (WWII the USMC had 2 Bns, and now Force Recon units) as with the US Army. However, in the 101, 82d and USMC, helicopter ops are S.O.P. ... So that is why I organize my SM in that way ...

Hi!
Cant remember if any were specializing in such deployement, but as L4 mentions the old AT TOE had the SW's with lots of drop pods.

Thanks guys. I think I will just keep them painted as they are and keep the T/Hawks and say that they are doing a drop/assault.
Thank You

Raven Guard would fit the bill nicely in my opinion, have a look at this Daf; http://uk.games-workshop.com/spacemarines/ravenguard/
The Raven Guard depends heavily on Scout forces able to act alone for extended periods of time, and rapid reaction forces such as jump pack equipped assault troops. Quite commonly, they will deploy their Tactical squads in drop pod manoeuvres or Thunderhawks in response to intelligence gathered by their Scouts. |

| That is an option, and the painting would go quickly. Black with a dry brush of dark blue tinted grey for highlights.
Could be an answer here.
Thanks

Incidentally, they also love infiltration. And teleportation.
