Well, Mr. Storm, remember that matter printers are coming. If you're concerned about GW disappearing, all you have to do is keep 1 or 2 samples of something. Eventually home scanners and printers will be good enough to make OOP stuff for us.

According to rumours the Thunderhawks battlecannon uses the BIG blast template too.

Why on earth do they have to add hell, doom, death, ?bane, extinction, massacre, carnage, apocalypse etc. to EVERY vehicle name? It's just like skulls. ?:(

To be fair, the Hellhammer sounds like the big brother to the Hellhound - perhaps not entirely random choice of name there?

And, just to nit-pick:

Leman Russ, Rhino, Land Raider, Land Speeder, Monolith, Hammerhead, Falcon, Trukks - MOST vehicles don't have death-related names. Even the mythically-named basilisk and chimera are fairly oblique references for death-dealers.

It tends to be at the Epic level that names get more predictably death-related.

According to the picture the Hellhammer has the same weapons as the Baneblade. Only the sponsons have twin HeavyFlamers insteadt of TwinHeavyBolters and the Mega Demolisher instead of the MegaBattlecannon in the turret.

From Warseer:

The Hellhammer is the name of the uber-flamer variant Baneblade. The main gun uses the stupid-large flamer template.

There's going to be 12 value sets released to stores as general product and another 16 that're going to be direct-only. The prices, contents, and savings of said boxes are as follows:

Releasing 10/8:
Space Marine Supression Force: 2xWhirlwind, 1xLandspeeder. Retailing for $90, content is $120, savings is $30.

Releasing 10/15:
Necron Phalanx: 2xMonoliths. Retailing for $90, content is $110, savings is $20.
Emperor's Fist Tank Company: 10xLeman Russ MBTs; Retailing for $275, value is $400, savings $125.
Land Raider Terminus Pattern, retailing @ $50.
Space Marine Battle Company: 100xSpace Marines, 8xRhino, 1xRazorback. Retailing @ $450, value of $625, savings of $175

Releasing 10/22:
IG Leman Russ Squad: 3xLeman Russ; retailing @ $90, valued @ 120, savings of $30.
Eldar Windrider Host: 1xAutarch Jetbike, 9xJetbikes, 2xVypers; Selling for $125, valued @ $220, savings of $95.
Chaos Tide of Spawn: 10xCSM, 10xSpawn; Retailing @ $110, valued @$155, savings of $45.
Tau Armored Interdiction Force: 2xHammerheads, 1xSkyray; retailing @ 90, valued @ 120, savings of $30.
Off-topic, but the High Elf Army box is dropping same week, I'll post the contents on the Fantasy forum if anyone's interested.

Releasing 10/29:
IG Basilisk Battery; 3xBasilisk kits, Again, 90/120/30.
Tau Rapid Insertion Force; 3 Stealth Suits, Nine Crisis Suits, $125/$200/$75
SM Linebreaker Formation: 3 Vindicators (new plastic!), $120. No discount?!
Eldar Cloudbreaker Formation: 3 Falcon Grav Tanks: $90/120/30

The other 16 boxes are a similar spread of sizes and values, apparently they just don't think sales are going to be stong enough for the other armies to justify being normally available to stores. I know I can order through direct with my account and get them without too much trouble, I'd imagine that's the case with most people, though, so it doesn't strike me as a terrible handicap. I was surprised there wasn't at least one 'nid set as a general release, though.

My favorite part is "Prepare for super-heavy tanks, Titans and entire Space Marine Battle Companies all fighting on the same tabletop." What's the big deal about that? I've been playing that way for a long time.  :;):

Those stompas look awful.  They're only slightly better than that old Armorcast piece of junk.  Iwouldn't trade one of Krooza's models for half a dozen of them.

Pitiful.

I've reason to believe they're scratchbuilds.

Yep. Specially the right one looks as if built from some kind of flower tub.

I do find the adverts for apocalypse amusing firstly for trying to make out large battles are new, secondly for the super heavy ads - look titans, baneblades, stompas, brass scorpions !  - but all we're actually making is the baneblade and a piss-poor chaos conversion

The only saving grace is that this will probably make money for GW...enough to allow a resurgence in SG? I doubt it, but I can pray :)
