Hi, Please move this if it's the wrong area to be posted in, but does the Warlock Titan count as a Farseer in terms of summoning the Avatar at the start of a given turn? Gary |

The simple answer is no, I believe. The Warlock Titan has Farsight, but the Avatar summoning refers specifically to Farseers. 'course, you need to ignore the fact that the box for the farsight ability refers exclusively to farseers and not farsight, almost implying the Warlock doesnt get any of those abilities either ![]() |

Funny that the WT supposedly outstrips a living Farseer in psionic ability yet can't open a webway portal... Well, maybe the WT's spirits are too busy keeping the Titan in fighting condition, giving the Mon-Keigh a kicking! (Thanks for the reply) Gary |

Actually now that the Farsight ability rules have changed with the 2008 Errata, I have the same question: Does the Warlock Titan only get the benefits of double retaining for the Eldar and no retaining modifier when it is activated, or can it also summon the Avatar? If it can't, should this rule be changed (he is expensive enough)? |

I always assumed where ever you read 'farseer' in a special rule you should subsitute 'unit with farsight' otherwise the Warlock's ability did nothing. It might not actually be how it is, but having a Warlock summon the Avatar isn't overpowering from what I've seen, its much worse when a Guardian Host drops him on you, at least when a Warlock walks up you are well aware you're about to get stomped all over. |

The thing is the Warlock summoning the Avatar would allow you to field an army without Guardians Warhosts and still be able to summon the Avatar. It also allows you to buy an army without Warhost sprueswhich still has the ability of fielding the Avatar. I asked because of both reasons. |

Simply having Farsight still doesn't allow summoning the Avatar. Farsight is a general rule, applicable to all scenarios, like TSKNF or Power of the Waagh. The Avatar deployment system (point cost, rules, limitations, etc.) is an army list rule and is set up specifically for the GT scenario. |
