Well, a lot of people complain about the Eldar Spirit Stones rule, as they feel the Eldar are getting something for free.

What if the rule had a drawback?  Namely: Any time an Eldar formation is completely destroyed, each Eldar formation with a line of site to the destroyed unit receive a Blast Marker representing the despair of seeing their comrades slain.  It's similar to what the Avatar does on a critical and it ties into the concept of Spirit Stones in that, if a whole formation is destroyed, their may be no one able to collect those lost spirits.

What do people think?

Well considering my promise not to mention them, I cannot directly reply, but.........

The Eldar will be coming up for review, but not for a while yet, and this has been pointed out to me numerous times, so in this case we will have to wait before any official action will be taken.

That said......

One suggestion was they pay 5pts per Infantry/LV unit in a formation for THEM, and 10pts per AV/DC in a formation for THEM.

Another was to replace THEM with a Farseer having the 'Global Leader' ability.

Hey I got through that without mentioning SpIrIt StOnEs once, ratz I just did:(

I must admit that I am in the camp that would just like to see them dropped. No changes just quitely disappear never to be mentioned again.

Until then I will use them to the hilt when ever I'm playing Eldar. :D

I am also of the opinion that it would be best just to drop them.

Unfortunately its a Long time yet until the review (and even longer until any changes filter through), until then I suggest just coming to an agreement within your local group not to use them.

You might want to up the points of revenants to 700 as well.

Would you feel the same way if the Holofield did not work in CC?

Versus mid-sized WEs, i.e. DC6 Phantoms/Warlocks, and small WEs Orks can consistently rely on CC.  KoS and, obviously, air assaults are both fast enough to engage Eldar titans.

The spirit stones seem unnecessary for the army to work.

I personally have a bigger problem with pulsars, holo field, & pop up rules in general.

It was a bit more than was needed IMO, but I'm yet to be convinced it is a problem. The closest thing to a real problem I see with it is the Eldar's opponents reaction to playing against it more so than game breaking effect.

So until the it is time for the proper Eldar review, after all the new Eldar opponents learn to play against them, it is not something that is considered a problem here. Sorry to put my foot down like this but now is not the right time for this discussion.
