fixed the bug with the AF list, it seems you could add as many EoV to the formation as you liked! I've added the max of 3, it would help if you pick up bugs like this to flag them up in the main armyforge thread or shoot me a PM, I can normally fix them directly on the server and save Mard a job :)

generally we add a minimum of 1 to the formation so you can see the price on the sidebar, it also helps any confusion if you add the EoV and then don't select a type, you can end up thinking you've got one when you haven't paid the points, or the list whinges at you for having too many support choices, all other lists are done this way for simplicity, I've also emailed Mard to keep him in the loop with changes

Thanks for the continued discussion on the list and those that have found the time to take it for a spin. Ginger I am looking forward to reading your Batreps soon. ;)

I think it would be good to consolidate the current position of the Iyanden development, which will hopefully make it easier to see where to from here.

It has been two weeks since the initial list was posted and in that time we have seen 70 posts, coming from 19 different people. Awesome!
I think there has been some really good discussion on things and I have made a quick list of peoples specifically voiced pros and cons for the list including a list or recommendations.

Pros
-1:1 ratio
-Inclusion of WBs
-Animated Construct
-WL 0-3 upgrade choice
-WG/WB initial unit size 4
-present options for war hosts

Cons
- Vamp transport capacity
-1:1 ratio
-Animated Construct
-points increase of war hosts
-guardians to troupe section
-concerns for WG spam

Recommendations
-reduction on points for War hosts
-1:2 ratio
-remove animated construct
-WB EA +1 MW
-WB 2 unit upgrades for 75pts
-WL start at unit size 4
-adjustments to guardian upgrades
-guardians to war hosts albeit a smaller formation

So regarding the Batreps we have three threads of games with 54 responses.

There have been 6 (the last of which will be up soon) and have been played against codex Astartes, skitarii (EUK), steel legion and Gazkul orks. Including the pending batrep the win loss ratio is 1:5. We have also seen several different types of list build.

Some feedback from the games have been that the 1:1 ratio has presented a real drama for list building when compared to issues surrounding the all important delivery methods for the war hosts. WB have been pretty underwhelming. The animated construct hasn't impacted any of the above mentioned games yet. However I do also note that there has been no "snipers" in any of the opponents lists yet which had been discussed early on as a possibly issue for that rule. Finally the idea of WB actually being incorporated into a WG unit rather than being having their own formation.

At this stage if I have missed anything glaring please let me know.

Moving on.
Last week I mentioned some possible changes to WB, unit size for WL and the ratio from 1:2, and that this would be pending the weekend and how things looked.

I feel at this point I only want to make some adjustments to the WB. Why? I really think this unit/formation type can be an important piece of the Iyanden puzzle. As it is a War host choice it takes it's place as a core ingredient in the list. I want to really try and get this unit right (or at least closer too) before tinkering with some other fundamentals in the list. That's not to say I have dismissed the other changes cause I haven't.

We are only 2 weeks into the new list and while we seems to be a good amount of healthy activity we have only seen 6 Batreps (5 of which are from AC or sub-AC) so very much early days.

In saying that I haven't seen the Animated construct rule have an impact yet and the discussion across the board has been mixed. So no change to this rule for the time been.

To give you an idea of my direction for the list. Yes I did think the previous Iyanden list was overpowered. I also felt some rules like living few rule were problematic. So I started with as many nerfs to the list to the point where didn't feel it would need any further. I am hoping that would indicate that the future approved Iyanden list would lay somewhere in between. Imagine a pendulum if you will.

So regarding the changes to the WB I will be adding a MW attack to the EA+1.

Guys I plan on adjusting the list itself on Monday and reposting it. Thoughts?

Mic, despite the various views pro and con, it may be worth keeping things as they are at the moment until you get more feeling of the balance especially with games from areas other than Greg (and the crazy dice ;D )

To that end, I have a standard 3K game arranged for Thursday.

At the moment, your direction seems to be to start with a deliberately weakend list and then to remove some of the nerfs to bring it up to par with the other lists. My only thought being that I would suggest going slowly and making limited changes - possibly just changing the ratio or the core formations in the list before tweaking unit stat - if you see what I mean.
