Hi

I was looking at colour schemes of various Eldar Craftworlds (I was after an alternative craftworld that used primarily green than Biel-Tan). I came across Il-Kaithe whose speciality was use of Bonesingers:

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Bonesinger

http://www.solegends.com/citle/citle200 ... /index.htm

I believe that Bonesingers were a repair unit on Dawn of War. From Dawn of War wiki:
http://wiki.reliccommunity.com/index.ph ... Bonesinger

What would be the best stats to use to represent them in EA? Given their ability to manipulate Wraithbone I was thinking it would be the Spiritseers/Wraithseers in Iyanden list.

Can anyone think of a good proxy model/simple conversion for them? If going down the conversion route am guessing that will be starting with either Farseer or Warlock model.

Cheers

James

Just found the following projected W40k stats on Warseer:

Bonesinger:- 1-3 choice 40-45pts

HQ choice, can only be used if a farseer is taken by a HQ

STATS same as warlock/spiritseer

Weapons: Shuriken Pistol, Isitha Kasra.(Singing spear/witchblade)
Armour 4+ Rune save
Options: can join wriathguard squads, and guardian squads and may be mounted on a Jetbike, same cost as warlocks.

Special, has the following power:

BONE SONG Range 12"
The Bone singer closes the eyes and concentrates deeply. He sings a song on a resounding and prfound tone and directs the capacity towards a damaged eldar vehicle. When the sound wave touches the psycho-plastic, the song resolders broken materials, repairing the damage very quickly. The bonesong allows to the bone singer to repair a damaged location of an eldar vehicle within 12" or to restore 1 wound to a wraithlord on a 4+.

It appears that this was intended to be included in W40K Eldar Codex but was dropped and so they released the model as a Limited Edition model.

EA stats wise looks like Warlock or Spiritseer.

Cheers

James

Yeah, I think these guys fall into the same category as IG enginseers and SM tech marines. It would be cool to have a 6mm model of one, but I'd doubt they'd have any effect on the battlefield.

That said, if there were ever a detailed set of campaign rules, then bone singers would definitely have a place.

By the way, here's the 40k model:

Yep thats the one- different colour scheme to the one I linked in above but nicely painted.

Was thinking whether could convert the model from Epic Warlock, probably replacing the sword. But as you say EA rules wise might just stick to either Warlock or Spiritseer.

So in terms of background fluff it looks as if Il-Kaithe craftworld would be prefect fit for either Ulthwe EA List (fights vs chaos and seers) or Iyanden (extensive use of wraithbone units). Either way I could happily use any of the current EA Eldar lists to represent their fighting style.

It does give me a known craftworld, with basic colour scheme, that is different from the big 5 craftworlds. I might vary it by including more bone (as well as the mainly green and secondary purple) to represent the wraithbone element, and also to give a 3rd contrasting colour. I have seen purple and bone, and green and bone, both used as nice colour schemes. So having bone as a 3rd colour on some units should nt look too garish but still rprovide interest.

Right thats the colour scheme for my Epic Eldar sorted, better finish off some more Orks so have space on painting table.

Cheers

Since the bonesinger in DoW is basically a guy with an instrument...

... would the old eldar musicians work?

I know there were a few 28mm miniatures and I think (but could be wrong) these guys are a 6mm version. I'll know for sure when they arrive, or someone who has been playing epic longer than me corrects me!

If they are any use, and you want some you are more than welcome.
