Ug, annoying. That was my best guess. I'll dig through of all SG's and Chroma's stuff this week.

FWIW, the entry referred to the Farseer in the 4.1 version of the Biel Tan Craftworld presented in Nov 2012, and also in the Compendium. Looks like it was only changed in 4.2.

well the 4.1 was never "approved" so it was a proposed change between 4.0 and 4.1 that never became implemented in my mind...

Why wait? Can't we (you) just decide what the wording should be now?
I'm personally fine with farsight being the thing that calls forth the Avatar.

And if we are going down that road could we please put the rules for the Avatar and the Wraith gate in some kind of Special rule bubble instead. :)

Not without any playtesting.

Suppose Iyanden are the most affected list.

There are two impacts; Warlocks in every list, and Wraithseers in the Iyanden list.
- Returning the rule to be summoning by Farseers across all lists corrects the first issue;
- Declaring which units *can* summon the Avatar corrects the second, we can include or exclude Spiritseers as appropriate.

Given Mic's direction in the list development, I suggest removing summoning from Spiritseers for now, and including the ability if the list is deemed to be underperforming in this respect. Note, this might make Guardians more attractive and IMO Wraithseers should be allowed to summon the Avatar.

My 2p as they say

Spirtseers are the farseers of the iyanden craftworld. So why wouldn't they be able to summon the avatar?

It is already in the netea tourney pack with no issues. So why not leave as is?

It hasnt seemed to effect game outcomes or even been noticed.

IMO this is not really an issue.

I agree Greg. Your approach is the most common sense, straight forward solution to the "issue" (which is not really an issue).

OK, I went back through old PMs and e-mails. From what I can tell I put it in there and SG approved it to handle Ginger's second point for all the Farseer types in secondary lists (Mounted Farseers, Spiritseers, Seer Council, etc) so we didn't have to specifically spell them out. Given that this is actually a game affecting change though (as neither of us brought up the Warlock), I'm going to roll it back to "Farseer" instead of "Farsight".

It might have been "Farsight" in the TP for two years but I doubt it was used in many games as Warlocks are pretty rare to begin with here (I've seen two fielded here since I started playing). Once more, I'm willing to bet no one noticed you could do it before Ginger brought it up. The Warlock is scary enough on its own before you factor in the ability to summon, playtests are definitely in order before that change gets approved.

Part of the reason for putting together the TP is so we can catch things like this as similar changes have snuck in over the years. There's a system for approval now, so we should stick to it.

Lastly, sorry for allowing this to sneak in. I took a heavy hand to the army lists to standardize and reduce the language. It wasn't my intention to introduce games changes however, just (ironically) reduce confusion and allow language to be dropped in where needed.

Slowly raises hand - Have been looking at this as an option for the EUK Iyanden list - Warlock titan giving the option for second retention and being the centre of the main battle plan.

As a proposed change option? Only the Farseer and Wraithseer can summon by the PDF that I have.
