A while ago, we considered changing the name of the Scorpionfish ? due to it being yet another ?xxx-fish? and being similar to the Eldar Scorpion. I would like this to be changed to ?Thornback? (a type of Ray), as I feel that it is descriptive of the missile systems, avoids the ?xxx-fish? moniker? and I like it!

What do you think?

YUCK!! Stick with Scorpionfish - if people can't tell the difference between the Scorpion and Scorpionfish then they have major problems with
a/spelling
b/eyesight
c/exactly what army they are playing :D

Isn't a thornback a type of Carnifex too?

It's a Carnifex biomorph, actually, but same difference, Ratty.

I like Scorp'fish, myself.

OK - I saw a show about the Bondi Beach rescue unit on tv last night and they were pulling people out of the water because they were being stung terribly by the Portuguese Man'o'war jellyfish so...! if people don't like Scorpionfish (I will stick to this if my idea gets shot down of course!:D )how about we call it the Man'o'war? It keeps in-theme of our nautical ocean-going idea and it is a dangerous sea-creature afterall... and it has a nice "commanding" name which would work well with the Supreme Commander aboard. Heck! It even has a 3-syllable Tau name with the apostrophies :D

:D  OK, we are not going back to Narwhal... I personaly hate it (sorry). 'Man-o-war' doesnt sound very Tau to me, and it seems that the general concensus is that Scorpionfish works fine.

Um, how about the obligatory "Shark with a frickin' laser attached to its head"

or, in lieu of that, "ill-tempered sea bass"

Seriously, though, how about "Terrapin," that's tough and fighty enough. It even goes with the boxy shape of the the orca chassis.

I kinda liked Narwhal actually...

But yeah, I'd go with another whale name due to the commonality with the Orca.

Personally I liked Amberjack. Still remember it. Sounds good for export in France.
