There are a few oddities I've just noticed with the Moray, Tigershark and Barracuda stats

Firstly, the burst cannons on all 3 now have 6+ to hit rolls. The problem is they're designated twin-linked... So, going by the TL weapons on other unit stats it should have a +1 roll. Having it this way seems to imply the weapon can't hit sh*& when it's not TL'd :D

Secondly, why does the TS have AA missiles in this list? It can't intercept fighters and its weapon only points forward... Is it hoping to catch enemy aircraft in its front arc? Or that the enemy aircraft will attack it from the front only? From my point of view it almost seems a redundant weapon system that we're paying points for. Has anyone used it to shoot down enemy aircraft? I mean I understand it is a dual role missile but surely the Barracuda is there to deal with the air threat. If they were rear-firing or 360 degree arc i could understand. What does the fluff say about the missile?

Lastly, should the Moray's burst cannons be fixed forward or 360 degree arcs like the rest of the list?

Cheers guys

So far never used the AA missiles on the TS.

The Moray should IMO have at least a Left and Right Firearc , like the THawk.

For the Burstcannons , no clue as I am not an 40k afficcionado.

Cheers!

Hmm... CS?

Secondly, why does the TS have AA missiles in this list?

Its supposed to be a Fighter-bomber as described by FW. However, it was knocked down to bomber status for balance a long time ago.

Some clean up required?

IMHO - there's no reason for it to have AA missles that are FF arc if it is to remain a Bomber.

It can't intercept fighters and its weapon only points forward... Is it hoping to catch enemy aircraft in its front arc? Or that the enemy aircraft will attack it from the front only? From my point of view it almost seems a redundant weapon system that we're paying points for.[quote]
Yep - AA could be removed as only morons would intercept us to the front.

In E:A v4.3.3 - you are correct.

If they were rear-firing or 360 degree arc i could understand. What does the fluff say about the missile?

Interceptors only exist in E:A. The only fluff is what we write. Seeker Missles are the only missle that exists in core concept and those work completely different from the way implimented in E:A.

Regards to fluff, the TS AX-1-0 is an almalgamation. For the plane to exist as written in core concept, it would be a far better plane than it is now. It would be considered broken by any epic aircraft standard.

Lastly, should the Moray's burst cannons be fixed forward or 360 degree arcs like the rest of the list?

360' arc IMHO. This has to be an error. They are modeled off of the Manta and should be on similiar mounts.

Cheers for the ideas Dobbsy,

Burst cannons - in EpicA 360 degree weapons have lowered values, so a 360 Hve bolter has 15cm range. Since 15cm - 15cm is zero i would imagine the to hit value was lowered instead.
