Enclave Youth Group Encounters Hagar-ite Revivalists

by

Enclave Information Services

The Fal'Shia Commerce Safety Unit intervened in a wilderness dispute yesterday.

Elements from the Enclave Youth Explorers unexpectedly ran into a group of traveling Sammy Hagar Revivalists who were publicly displaying red spandex gym-wear and extreme hairstyling without a permit. In addition, it was reported that a Sammy Hagar Epsilon-7 clone had been charged with attempting to incite a riot by repeatedly shouting ?Red? to the gathering throng via a non-Enclave consumer approved voice amplification implant.

The Youth Explorers reported to the onsite Pacification officers that the Revivalist voice signals had overwhelmed the network music channels that feed the individual explorers t-Pod music stores. This caused the explorers to be exposed to repetitive 3 chord harmonics which impeded high level encephalographic processing. Many explorers were hospitalized for striking large objects with their foreheads.

The CSU Pacification officers also reported that several Hagarite grav-bike gangs were clocked in excess of Enclave speed limits (?We don?t drive 55?) and were apprehended, and issued citations. Casualties from the exchange were sent to Injury Containment Facility 501.

Damage to CSU and Enclave property was estimated at 2.74 billion creds.

This is Aun C'lter reporting for F'x N'Uze and Enclave Information Services

===============================================

John and I got together to give his Sammy Hagar Revivalist list a run through at 1500 points. This was John?s first EA game and was intended to be a learning game (he is an accomplished 40K player). However to ensure that his initial experience was appropriately spicy, he managed to liberally lace his pre-game emails with Eldar epithets (?You Monkeigh?s will be falling out of the trees?). I attempted to remind him several times that Monkeigh have noses and we do not, but to no avail and the abuse continued throughout the week.

So properly motivated, we gathered?

Fal?Shia Commerce Safety Unit (1500 pts)

1 x Fire Warrior Cadre, w/Devilfish
2 x Pirannha Contingent, + Pirannha Upgrade, + Tetra Upgrade
2 x Stingray Contingents
2 x Sentry Towers

I put this force together to try out some different ideas. I was looking to try out a light Recon group, assuming that I was going to encounter a lot of jet bikes and I didn?t want to lock up a lot of points in heavy units. Also, I wanted to see how the Pirannha contingent would behave against an aggressive opponent. ?In looking back at my list, I now realize that my list is not valid. I don?t have enough cadres. Somehow in the last minute swapping out of an armored cadre, I messed up my ratios. I also neglected to deploy the Sentry towers during the game, so I really only played with 1350. However, that doesn?t correct the list errors.

Sammy Hagar Revivalist Tour (1500 pts, from memory)

2 x Sammy Hagar Revivalist troupes with Roadie upgrades
? ?Includes 1 x Malibu Mystic (Farseer), ?1 x Sammy Hagar Epsilon-7 with Groupie upgrade (1 x Chieftain)
2 x Sammy Hagar Revivalist troupes with Roadie upgrades
2 x Hippie Bird Caravans (4 Falcons) with 1 x California Light Show Tank (1 Firestorm)

In looking back at John?s force roster, he combined his Windrider troupes into two formations of two, which is incorrect and actually had an impact on his game, which I will address in the recap. Oh well, that?s why it was a ?learner?.

Report to follow?

Cheater.

:)

Seriously, as you know the minimum game size is recomended for 2K and the maximum at 5K for tournament situation battles. Obviously this was not the case and you were in effort to teach the game and get a feel for some particular formations. NO harm, no foul there IMHO.

You openly express the situation and actually played with less points in the end. We should be able to use any and all feedback, so as long as the facts are known as you've demonstrated.

Cheers for that!

I thought the tau and ork names post by Bretan was bad... LOL, I'm guessing this is Saimm Hann (or whatever) Jet bikes?

Epsilon-7 with Groupie upgrade (1 x Chieftain)

OK... I'm going to have to wait until I get home and find my ?swordwind book to figure out this xeno tongue mod...

2 x Sammy Hagar Revivalist troupes with Roadie upgrades
2 x Hippie Bird Caravans (4 Falcons) with 1 x California Light Show Tank (1 Firestorm)

Hippie Bird = High Flying Peace & Love Caravan.

Cali-light show tank - ROFLMAO!

Right then... so 5 Tau activations with less points and illegal list vs. 7 Eldar activations?

In looking back at John?s force roster, he combined his Windrider troupes into two formations of two, which is incorrect and actually had an impact on his game, which I will address in the recap. Oh well, that?s why it was a ?learner?.

Noted, so its really 5 Eldar formations / activations due to his combining of forces accidentally?

Cheers,

The Sammie Haggar Roadhouse Tour proudly boasted five formations:

2. ?Red Rocker One (two units in one formation comprising ten vipers, farseer and attached wild riders) Later known as Tau Target of Choice

3. Red Rocker Two (two ?units in one formation consisting of ten vipers, chieftain and atatched wild riders).

4. Party Bus One (four falcons and one firestorm).

5. Party Bus Two (four falcons and one firestorm).

Something tells me I'm going to get a good read out of this batrep... now, if Honda would just quit holding out on us...  :/

I'm going to draw up maps on Visio for each of the turns as I think that will help readers understand the implications of extreme mobility in this lesson.

Both sides played pretty aggressively. From a Tau perspective, I was quite certain that if I let John pick his attacks that he'd cut me to pieces.

I'll save some of the meatier analysis for the battle report, but this game certainly would have gone in a different direction if I had played it in passive mode.

More later...

Perhaps, but after I post the report, you'll still be easy.

:/

See kids, you too can regress to a child-like state on a Friday afternoon when mentally you're somewhere in the Bahamas.
